I did alot of research on these before I finally purchased one. You don't need to spend alot of money on one. This model is perfect. You get the same color screen as SG5 maybe just a little smaller. The only difference to me is that you have to use batteries. Which could be easier sometimes. Considering that sometimes you could forget to re-charge your battery like on other models that dont take regular batteries. The reviews on here that say the batteries don't last long are kinda B.S. because I played about 3-4 rounds before I had to change them out, and that was the cheapo batteries that come with it when you open the box. I'd imagine that some Energizers or Duracell would last maybe even longer. I'm very happy with my purchase. Glad I didn't spend alot on one of the expensive SGX or SG5. Especially considering it costs $30 a year just to download courses from your state, and even more a year if you want to download courses nationwide. I recommend buying the carrying case for it too.

Be aware-no where do they warn you you need a yearly sevice plan in order to get any Golf course info to download. Beating that - if you do not renew the next year - they wipe out all the info you previously downloaded on your device. Very unhappy that isn't clearly noted upfront.

Awesome product!! I used it Sunday and it worked perfectly. I recommend getting some rechargeable batteries and your good to go...

I purchased the 3.5 as an upgrade from a 2.5 that I had used for several years. I am very pleased with the color screen and its visibility; it likes bright sunlight! There is more information available than on the 2.5 which is appreciated.

I have found that the battery life is not long--about three rounds so purchaser might consider buying rechargable batteries.

Before purchasing the SG3.5 I was using the SG4. I cannot say how much better the SG3.5 is than the SG4! Everything about the SG3.5 is better than the SG4. The SG3.5 takes 3 AAA batteries which is better than the rechargeable SG4. The SG3.5 has a modern USB connector compared to the mickey mouse connector found on the SG4; the SG4 has a little itsy bitsy screw to make the USB connection that from what I have read strips out easily and is a pain to even get screwed in. The color screen on the SG3.5 is awesome and looks great on a sunny day. The unit feels great in the hand and is a more pleasurable shape. There were many times on a clear day with no obstructions I would have to reset the GPS on the SG4. Not so with the SG3.5; it connected to the satelites almost immediately; within 15 seconds. If you are looking for a superb golf GPS the SG3.5 is the only one to be looking at for the price and functionality.

The Sky Caddie was easy to install, load my golf course and more importantly it's quite accurate on the golf course.

Sky Caddie is accurate and easy to use. I especially like being able to compute how far I hit my drives.

My husband is an avid golfer and had an older version of the Sky Caddie. He was very happy to get the updated version with a color screen and updated technology. You can download any golf course and the Sky Caddie will tell you how far you are from the pin. If you are a golfer you will know that this is very valuable information as you decide which club to use and how much of a swing to take.

Used a competitor's GPS for two years because of past comments on Sky Caddie's durability. Bought this about a month ago. It is REALLY cool. Love the color display. Love the variety of formats to display data. Love the ability to adjust pin position. It is first rate.

I already have an sg5.....I ordered this for my wife(actually I ordered 2 of them).This unit is perfect...it far exceeded my expectations.The aspect of being battery powered is great.
