Stonehill's best album,
By
This review is from: The Sky Is Falling (Audio CD)
I have listened to Stonehill since 1976, and this is his best album, in my opinion. It is certainly the most honest, liberated, and musically diverse of his albums, as well as having great production and his deepest lyrics. "Through the Glass Darkly" ranks among the best songs ever recorded in the genre of rock. I progressively began losing interest in his albums after he signed on with Myrrh because editorially it sounded like they clipped his wings to conform to the Myrhh image. Too bad, because I think that if he and Larry Norman could have continued their musical collaboration they may have given the Beatles competition insofar as making a "perfect" album is concerned. No Stonehill collection could be considered complete without this and "Welcome to Paradise."

another classic,

I think the first album, Welcome to Paradise, was better. And there are a few clunkers on this cd. But overall this is a great album with some improved writing and production over Paradise.
I would rate the top three RS cds as Welcome to Paradise, Equator, and this one - The Sky is Falling.

This review is from: The Sky Is Falling (Audio CD)
It's been quite some time since I initially bought this record (on vinyl)
I was afraid that my great memories of the album may have been dashed, after hearing it on a cd many, many years later. Not so! It was as fresh and inspiring as the first time I listened to this masterpiece...This certainly qualifies as one of "The 10 cd's you'd want if you were stranded on a desert island" to me...Masterful production by the late, gifted genius, Larry Norman. To those of you who have never listened to this record, trust me, just buy it!
