5.0 out of 5 stars Magic
I first heard Sky High shortly after it was released. Picture this: An uncrowded pure white Atlantic beach in mid-summer, sun glittering off the Ocean, which was calm and 68 degrees and so clear aqua-blue that day that, standing in water chest high, I could see every detail of my feet. A swim, a beach chair, headphones, and this music--it was the PERFECT accompaniment...

1.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing compared to other CDs/Albums
This CD was devoid of any of Govi's usual emotional imprint or soaring guitar work. Frankly, it was just a bunch of New Age background noise that one would hear on elevators. Some of the Craig Chaquico-style stuff was interesting, but better left to Craig. Try 7th Heaven, Mosaico or Guitar Odyssey instead.

Whenever you play it, you will be transported to a perfect day of sun and surf.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome!, March 17, 2001

I first heard Govi in 1990 ... the "Sky High" album. A group of friends and I went on a camping trip to the Adirondacks - Lake Chateaugay - in late July. We enjoyed the summer air, the lake, the northern lights, shooting stars, campfires, and each others company. In the late evening and into the night, we sat around the campfire joking, reminiscing, and listening to music on a portable tape player (no electricity). I brought some old tapes and a new one tbat I had just purchased - "Sky High." Well all I can say is that all of us were influenced by the soft, melodious, flowing sounds of Govi. I fell in love again with a wonderful woman and although I can't say it was just the music, certainly in played a major part in creating a peaceful, reflective moment in time. Some of us still get together and look back fondly on the trip and the great time we had, including the music of Govi. What more can I say?

I never really listened to Govi before until I stumbled on his music by pure luck. And I am indeed lucky! This album is wonderful. All of the songs in incredible and "Just For You" is one of my favorites on this album. Everytime this song plays - it doesn't matter what I'm doing - I have to stop and sit down b/c it completely takes over me. The experience of his music is one not to be missed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Govi's Debut C.D. Is Somthing To Treasure..., October 18, 2000

It is indeed a privelige to be the first person review this fantastic piece of music. It was about 12 years ago. I was browsing through a New Age store. They were playing some great guitar music! It was so mystical and dream like! I went to the register and asked,"Who is this playing guitar?" She said,"Oh yea, this is a new one we just got. His name is Govi." I had to have it.

"Sky High" is a remarkable mixture of guitar, flute and synthesizer. I've taken this c.d. with me everywhere through the years. Every track is great. From the hypnotic "Just For You" to the warm and happy "Go Easy."

Govi has since delivered several great c.d.'s. All of which are worth owning. But "Sky High" just has a magical sound that I will always treasure. Enjoy.

We have come across several of Govi's CDs and we keep buying them. If you really enjoy what I'd call a blend of flamenco, Latin, New Age, and light Jazz, try any Govi CD. Yes, I know maybe a lot of similar compositions and a lot of 'plain old guitar' to some listeners, but Govi plays extremely well and we have not tired of any of the tracks. Run these through a great sound system in your vehicle or home, crank it up and let the rhythms and intricaties of the guitar suck you in. As a note, I came upon Govi listening to 'live365' internet radio, proof that internet radio DOES bring buyers to the artists!
