There are three reasons why I think the Skypro tops any of the others I have used or read about:

1. It uses the power of the ipad/iphone to sychronize the clubface with the unit. There is no manual sighting/guessing where the club face is as with the others. (Initially, it took a few times to get comfortable using a full-sized ipad to synchronize the clubface (using an iphone should be easier) but it wasn't that big a hassle nor extremely time consuming. Yes, it might misidentify the iron because there is no standardization of lofts among club manufacturers. You can tell it what number the maker calls it but that has no significance since it has actually determined what the real loft is)

2. The developers understood that there are certain parameters (such as impact face angle, where the ball struck the clubface, ball speed, carry distance et al.) that would only be guesses and not even educated ones. So, they didn't give you the pretend info that many of the others do. (The info it gives you maps well with Jim Mclean's 8-step golf swing (steps 2, 4, 5, 6) and it is similar, in that there are ranges of success for most of the measurements. You don't have to swing like some perfect robot but if you exceed the outer bounds you probably will have lots of difficulty hitting a quality shot. It also gives you the acceleration curve, so you can see if you are developing your maximum speed just before impact. or losing power by having it occur earlier in the downswing)

3. Their product is focussed on helping you improve your swing and not overwhelming you with useless information simply because some programmer thought of it. (The 'groove' mode, as they call it, allows you to work on a particular aspect of your swing in one of three increasingly stringent levels of success.

If like me you go down to the range and hit 100 balls then go home and feel as if you haven't learnt anything then I would recommend the sky pro. It fixes to the club very securely with no movement after the swing. Out of the 100 balls I hit the Sky pro missed only 6 swings which is what I was expecting. The data is very close to what I got when on trackman. The best bit though is the 3d image you get of your swing and I now know the 2 issues that I have with my swing, shaft lean at impact is too far forward and my hands are higher at impact than at address. All in all a great purchase and I would recommend it 👍

I purchased my SkyPro several months ago and I have been very surprised at the information provided and the results that I have seen in my improved swing. I am hitting the ball purer and straighter than I have ever hit it before. I am now hitting more fairways and greens in regulation and this is resulting in more pars and fewer double bogeys.

Using the SkyPro I discovered that I had a casting issue that was causing off center hits and the ball to not end up where I intended it to go. After reviewing several swings and recognizing the issue I needed a fix and that was done through my pro. I used the SkyPro during my lesson with my pro and I have saved those swings and made one my favorite that I use to compare to when I am practicing on my own now.

I have used the groove session to help with back swing length, shaft lean at address and impact. There are more sessions I will use when I start back practicing for Spring Golf.

I am looking forward to the Putting part of the application that I have heard them talk about also. That is the next part of my game that I cant wait to improve on.

I would recommend this swing analyzer to the golfer in your family. I am actually purchasing one for my Dad for Christmas.

I was fairly lost as with most people are when you first attached this to the club and pair it with your device. Yes, you get a lot of good data but it is hard to figure out exactly how to use it to your advantage. The way I use it now, is to go to the driving range and keep swinging until I start hitting well. Save those swings and then look at the data. Then, when I am at home I use this along with my Optishot and "groove" to the swings that I saved. I believe it has helped but I really need to use it more. There are only a couple videos on youtube that explain how to use it better, some are from "TrueFitGolf" so search that and check it out. Overall, it lost a star because of no Android support. I have to use my iPad and it is a bit awkward trying to pair it with the device. As far as connectivity, haven't had too many issues.

First if you just want my recommendation skip to the last paragraph. Now a little background on my golf game and what I was looking for in the product. I start every summer in the mid 90's and end up in the mid 80's and I wanted something help me to break 80. I was debating on this device or a 4 lesson pack from a local pro for $200 to help me get there. I decided on this device for 3 reasons. 1. It was cheaper than the lessons from the pro 2. I thought there would be some kind of individual analysis of my golf swing and fixes for my swing (there's not much). 3. I could use this through the winter to practice and hopefully avoid starting in the 90's next spring.
So now to the actual review of the product and the app that records the data. The day it arrived when I got off work I immediately took it to the range to swing. Connecting the Bluetooth to my iPad was a breeze and I got started in under 5 minutes. I chose to just do the "swing", which gives you an analysis of a lot of data points of your swing. I was really impressed by all the data and numbers it gives about the swing. Seeing the swing in 3D was pretty cool too. After the first 50 or so balls I changed to the "groove", which allows you to basically focus on 1 of 13 aspects of your swing to make it more consistent. After I finished hitting my bucket of balls I went home fairly satisfied that I had made some progress on my swing because I had an easy time being consistent with the few aspects that I had chosen to practice.
A couple days later I decided to use the Skypro at home and get a practice session in. I was very disappointed when my first 4 swings weren't picked up by device and couldn't be "recreated" in the app. This was just the beginning of the disappointments.
