The Sky Caddy Breeze was introduced with a lot of flawed software. Every time I try to sync I have to go through update after update. The first time I tried to register the Breeze I had to wait over 1 hour for all of the updates to get completed. Downloading courses means more updates before the courses are downloaded. The initial operating system that shipped with the Breeze must have been a beta version. I brought the Breeze because it was less expensive than the regular Sky Caddy models. The problem is you have to pay for all the software that is included in the $299 version. So after you pay $229 for the Breeze and buy the software you are up to the $299 version. Save yourself a lot of hassle and buy the regular model.

I have been a SG5 user for some time. I was excited to get the Breeze with the bigger screen and sleek look. I took it out of the box and played right away. The GPS locked quickly and the device moved from hole to hole easily. I really missed the green shape and the ability to move the pin, so I bought the first feature pack and now the Breeze performs like my SG5 only better. I like that it stores 50 courses and that it has preloaded basic courses available. The battery was good for the whole round. I love my new Breeze!

Been a Skycaddie user and customer for over 7 years. Owned 2 (one for me and one for my wife)SG4's and decided to trade them in to Skygolf on their Skycaddie Breeze Promotion. Received the 2 new units in good time but started having a problem on the first use of my wife's unit with the backlight. Does not operate as the directions state. Called in to Customer support. Customary 30 min. wait for a live person. After getting the person I explained the issue. The person had absolutely no knowledge of the unit, and he was suppose to be a tech person? His only resolution was to send another unit. I called again the next day to another "Tech person" after the same issue occured on my unit's first use. I felt that their had to be some issue of a setting or something other than "the unit is broken". This person was more knowledgeable and insisted he knew the fix. He wanted me to go out to a hole on my course ( I live close by) and test his theory of a fix. I said that it had taken me another 40 min. wait period to talk to him and I did not want to do it again after testing his theory. He said no problem "I will call you back in 30 minutes". I went out and tested his fix, and of course it did not work, so I came back to wait for his call. You guessed it NO CALL. I called again and 55 min later got a third person. After going over the whole issue with him he stated that the person who was suppose to call me back was sorry but got tied up and would now call me right back. You guessed it again never heard from him. I will be trying to find some Skygolf upper management next week but in the meantime I will be submitting product reviews to as many sites as I can (between rounds of golf of course) I am retired and I do have the time. It is what us consumers can do to be heard.

The trial offer (30 days) was good, but then the problems started. I synced my sky caddie breeze four times per their instructions with no results. I had three on line sessions with the technicians that did the same thing I did. After each session they assured me my breeze would work, each time it did not work. After two weeks of trying to get it to work and update after update and waiting over 25 minutes on several calls to talk to a customer care rep. Finally after talking to a person, they agreed to send me a new one. A week later I get a voice mail that numerous customers were experiencing the same issue and my breeze would now work if I updated it again. I spent over 8 hours with on-line technical support and "customer care". When I asked for an upgrade, I was denied. My friend bought a "cheap" model that has no yearly membership and no head aches. I wish I would have never bought the sky caddie breeze.

I have never given a product review on line until now. However, because of my dissatisfaction with this product, I need to vent. First of all, it is not nearly as simple to use as implied. My hope was that this would be much like the "watch" units - you could take a quick look at numbers, choose club, and hit. Breeze wants to know if you are finished with last hole - you punch yes button, then it takes time to update to right hole. It advances automatically sometime, sometime not. Meanwhile, my golfing partner with a Garmin watch unit has distance, hit, and on way to his next shot. Additionally, as a walker, there is not a convenient method of attaching unit on bag without fear of losing device somewhere on golf course. The clip on broke after three rounds, but was not much good to begin with. Bottom line, this thing is more of a distraction than a help on golf course.

Great if you want a very simple GPS. Which now a days you can get it free on any phone. But if you want the extras just go ahead and pay for the SGX or SGXW. I wanted some extras. And this GPS is upgradable. But the extra's I wanted cost me an extra $100 plus the yearly fee. So just save yourself sometime and get the GPS with extra's already on it.
