Book Description

October 1, 1997

This CD is full (650 Mb.) of current and important skydiving reference information, photographs and lots of video... INCLUDING:

Parachuting: The Skydiver's Handbook (First Edition for CD-ROM), by Dan Poynter and Mike Turoff. This 400 page electronic book, recently revised, from Dan Poynter's 7th edition has been a standard and a "must read" for all skydivers, both novice and expert. Fully searchable and hyperlinked.

The Best of Parachutist Magazine. Eighteen of their best articles that supplement the Skydiver's Handbook and bring a sense of the culture and character of skydiving today. The articles cover every aspect of the sport; equipment, training, statistics, National and World competitions; freefall formation, canopy formation, speed style and accuracy, Freestyle and skysurfing.

Special sections on: Freestyle by Tamara Koyn; aerial videography, by Brian Rogers; Fixed Object or BASE jumping by Nick Digiovanni and the US BASE Association; The Golden Knights; advanced RW training, by Craig Buxton and Danny Page of Skydive University... and a lot more. "Did I say that this disc was full?"

About 58 minutes of video on first jump training, AFF, freefall and canopy formation, parachute packing, malfunctions, vertical wind tunnels, BASE jumping and some great footage of Freestyle and Skysurfing (especially some never released footage of Rob Harris, by Joe Jennings). The video is narrated and set to all new original music.

More About the Author

Dan Poynter is an author of more than 100 books, has been a publisher since 1969 and is a Certified Speaking Professional (CSP).

He is an evangelist for books, an ombudsman for authors, an advocate for publishers and the godfather to thousands of successfully-published books.

His seminars have been featured on CNN, his books have been pictured in The Wall Street Journal and his story has been told in US News & World Report.
The media come to Dan because he is the leading authority on book publishing.

Dan travels more than 4,000 miles each week to share, inspire and empower writers, publishers and professional speakers through keynotes and seminars.

Dan was prompted to write The Self-Publishing Manual because so many publishers wanted to know his secret to selling so many books. Dan is one of the publishing industry's most energetic, experienced and respected leaders. He lives in Santa Barbara.

As an author and a publisher, Dan Poynter sometimes reviews books that will be useful to others. He does not review books he can't recommend with a full five stars. He reviews books about his loves: book writing, book publishing, book promotion, parachute equipment, skydiving and (occasionally) business.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amendment to my previous review, December 18, 1999
This review is from: Skydiving, A Multimedia Reference (CD-ROM)
The well known Skydiver and author Mr. Dan Poynter has purchased rights to this CD with which I had troubles on my own individual computer. I hear that it works fine on 99% of computers out there. Mr. Poynter guarantees immediate response if a purchaser has any trouble. The buyer can definitely trust Mr. Poynter. He can be contacted at DanPoynter@ParaPublishing.com
