Rogers "dreamer" (MO) - See all my reviews I read this book shortly after reading the first in the series, "Sun River". At about the halfway point of the book, I was very disappointed, and nearly gave up on it. It seemed to take the worst elements of the first book (excessive characters and cartoonish characterizations) and leave out the parts where Wheeler excels, describing the beauty of the land and customs of the Indians. But the second half felt like a different book to me, and I found myself really enjoying the plot twists. I read this book shortly after reading the first in the series, "Sun River". At about the halfway point of the book, I was very disappointed, and nearly gave up on it. But the second half felt like a different book to me, and I found myself really enjoying the plot twists. I will go on to read more of the Skye's West series.
