3.0 out of 5 stars Some Good, some okay, some a puzzle October 12, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
The short, short stories in this collection are mostly pretty good. Some are simply okay.
However, good poetry, even free verse has a rhythm, a beat, plus images and metaphors that readers can relate to. Much of the poetry in this book puzzled me. I had no idea what the author was talking about.
I expect this author can and will improve in time, however.

4.0 out of 5 stars a nice collection of stories and poetry September 21, 2012
By Greg M.
Format:Kindle Edition
i purchased this book from the author at Horizon Books in Traverse City, Michigan, earlier this year.

the stories are well written and carry a punch. for example, the first story ("The man on the overpass") caused me, at least, no end of consternation, trying to decide "moral or immoral?". i.e., it caused me to think, which is good.

while i liked the poetry, i was generally less impressed by the poetry than i was by the short stories. though i generally liked the sentiments, and the sparse style in which the poetry was written, maybe it didn't carry enough allusions or metaphors for my particular taste.
