5.0 out of 5 stars Skylar's Outlaw is a stellar read!, March 5, 2010
This review is from: Skylar's Outlaw (Harlequin Super Romance, The Belles of Texas) (Mass Market Paperback)
Loved, loved this book. Then again, what isn't there to like about a hero with a dark and mysterious past? Linda Warren manages to write such depth into her characters without getting bogged down in angst or going over the top. Her characters are real, likeable and sometimes not so much. Its the level of relatability that makes for a good read, IMO.

The hero is uber sexy and the heroine stubborn enough to get the job done without being a real pain in the butt. They don't like each other at all in the beginning of the book which makes their coming together all the more sweeter. Skylar's Outlaw is a must read as are the other titles in this trilogy. ~ Ana, [...]

5.0 out of 5 stars Skylar's Outlaw, March 24, 2010
This review is from: Skylar's Outlaw (Harlequin Super Romance, The Belles of Texas) (Mass Market Paperback)
You met both Skylar and Cooper in the first book of the Belles of Texas - Caitlyn's Prize.

Cooper's found a home at High Five and put his life and energy into a ranch that he doesn't own - and Skylar doesn't like that he is an ex-con and sees him as a bad influence for her daughter.

Skylar has her own problems - she has been on the run for years from her former boyfriend's family who see her daughter Kira as the sole heir to the family's fortune. Not only that - Kira's health isn't perfect. She has arthritis.

As in each of the books in this series - Linda pushes the Belle family and the extended family of High Five to the limit. Kira's safety. Cooper's freedom. Skylar's Heart. Nothing is sacred. But even with all the strife, Linda's theme prevails - Family. While this is the end of the Belle sisters - I can see that there is some spin-off potential.

5.0 out of 5 stars Meekness is not in Skylar Belle's vocabulary, January 25, 2010
This review is from: Skylar's Outlaw (Harlequin Super Romance, The Belles of Texas) (Mass Market Paperback)
Skylar Belle, the youngest of the 3 sisters, and now the only single one is mother to 4-year-old Kira, who suffers with Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis, plus is now running the High Five Ranch. Added to this is their 77-year-old Grandmother who in herself is a very colorful and unpredictable lady.
Then there is Cooper Yates, the foreman who was unjustly framed but served time and is still considered a criminal by Skylar who wants him gone. Unfortunately for her, neither of her sisters agree and she is now supposed to get along with him which neither she nor Cooper make itan easy task.
It doesn't help that Skylar's ex-in-laws are trying to gain custody of Kira, and have had her followed for quite awhile. Now when they find her and appear at the ranch,Kira turns up missing,so the suspicion is cast on them-but they are not kidnappers. When Kira is found,it brings alot of things to the surface, and many things change for both Skylar and Cooper.
There is so much I really would like to tell as this one was an exceptional ending to the series, but I really recomend it to anyone. Even if you only read one book, get this one,and you will se what a fantastic writer Linda Warren is.

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved this book, November 19, 2010

Linda Warren does a great job keeping you on the edge in this book. She addresses real topics with real problems. She does a great job creating her characters and images, to the point that I never want her books to end.

I have enjoyed every book she has written, learned alot and can relate to so many issues (tho I am an East coast girl).

In this book Skyler is both strong and vulnerable, dealing with many serious issues. I love the strength of her women - living and working in a mans world. She also deals with many serious legal and medical issues, it keeps her books real.

Looking forward to reading the next Linda Warren book. This is a winner and my favorite.

5.0 out of 5 stars super contemporary ranch romance, January 14, 2010
This review is from: Skylar's Outlaw (Harlequin Super Romance, The Belles of Texas) (Mass Market Paperback)
The youngest of the three Belle sisters, Skylar wants the family ranch foreman Cooper "Red" Yates fired. She asks her siblings Caitlyn and Madison to back her, but they say no as he is needed to save the spread. They also wonder if her persistence has less to do with his competency or as Sky claims his being an ex convict who she feels unsafe for her and her four year old daughter Kira, who suffers from juvenile rheumatoid artists, to have around; instead they believe she fears her attraction to their foreman.

Obstinate Sky vows to work with Red, who is uncomfortable with his boss lady because of her attitude towards him for a crime ironically he did not commit. However when Kira vanishes at the same her affluent paternal grandparents arrive to take the child away with them as they have the money and her reputation as a wild one to back their claim. Red shows his true value as he leads the search for his boss lady's daughter although by doing so he violates his probation, which if found out means returning to prison.

The third Belles of Texas contemporary ranch romance (see Caitlyn's Prize And Madison's Children) is a delightful tale as the "wild" sister proves to be a domestic lioness protecting her cub. The hero is courageous as he knows he will be caught violating the terms of his probation and returned to jail, but rescuing the little girl he loves as his own is paramount. Linda Warren is three for three with this family driven drama.
