How is the system turned on or activated ? For instance, If I only want to use the system at night time, how can I deactivate it during the day ? Would un-plugging the base system every time remove the settings ? Sep 2, 2013
As far as I know, the only way to deactivate it is to unplug it. I have unplugged mine and it has not made me reset the settings.
Is the alert chime in the audio range of a ringing phone tone or a door chime? I can't hear the high frequency squeaks of many alarms. Apr 1, 2013
I would equate it to a door chime. It's loud enough for me (hard of hearing). I have the alarm on a tree in the driveway and it will chime 13 times when something passes it. I haven't tried the alarm but understand it's pretty loud. It will pick up squirrels, deer and other critters that pass through. I'm happy with it.
How sensitive is it? Will it beep due to the wind blowing the tree limbs/ cars going by on the street/ bugs or animals going infront of it? Sep 25, 2013
We have large trees 30 or so feet away from the senor on driveway. We did have to adjust the sensor downward so it wouldn't pick up excessive tree motion. This was in strong wind. On a normal day, the trees wouldn't affect the sensor. Dogs walking across drive way can set the alarm off, so setting sensor down, it can still pick up tires as they drive by and alert you. It doesn't have to 'see' the whole vehicle.
how many sensors come with the ha-434rtl motion kit Jul 22, 2013
The one I purchased came with two sensors. And they work WONDERFULLY!!! I bought two more, and added them. These little detectors are great. They are sensitive, too (placement is key).
Can I put this sensor at the bottom of my stairs and the box in my bedroom only 5 feet away? Will it work being that close together. Child sleepwalks Jan 8, 2014
Seriously, this sensor works only part of the time 5 feet or 100 feet away. I strongly suggest you use a reliable solution for anything that is important. It will false alarm, or lose track of the sensor or not alarm when it should. Then sometimes it works fine. I have 2 base units and 4 different sensors. None work reliably.
How durable are the transmitters? Our transmitters would be installed in outside locations with little or no protection. Sep 21, 2013
I've only had mine a couple months. They are decent plastic, with screws and adjustable mount. This is Alaska, it was 24 degrees yesterday morning, still working fine on the original batteries.
