5.0 out of 5 stars great replacement remote
I bought this for an old genie opener from the mid 90s.
The good: It works. The programming instruction is clear and easy to follow. I prefer these kind of jumper settings, rather than the "clicker" where you pressed buttons in certain sequence to program. The unit is small and light, can put in pocket.

The bad: The mounting bracket is not that useful...

1.0 out of 5 stars Terrible service by skylink
First I purchased the Skylink Transmitter G6MR since it was "100%" compatible with my Overhead Door Company opener. It IS NOT. I was told by skylink support to go by a 12 volt adapter for the receiver or get the model 69N that would work with my current Model 100A receiver.
So, I returned the G6MR and ordered the 69N and guess what. It is not compatible with the...

5.0 out of 5 stars great replacement remote, October 28, 2007

I bought this for an old genie opener from the mid 90s.
The good: It works. The programming instruction is clear and easy to follow. I prefer these kind of jumper settings, rather than the "clicker" where you pressed buttons in certain sequence to program. The unit is small and light, can put in pocket.

The bad: The mounting bracket is not that useful and I can live without it. I also notice the lag time and takes a while for me to get used to. Range is minimal, as expected in universal remote of this size. And is anyone going to make a multi-button portable universal remote? (not the clicker..)

Bottom line: For the price this is a good deal. It advertises that it supports a wide range of models. It is a great replacement or secondary remote.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works With Genie Door Opener, September 21, 2011

Initially I misread the instructions and could not get it to work; specifically removing a pin equals 0 setting as opposed to - or +. I sent an email to the support desk, got a detailed response within an hour, did what they suggested and it works.

4.0 out of 5 stars Skylink 69P works with Craftsman Garage Opener but not with another Craftsman remote., March 16, 2011

Have a Craftsman 1/2HP Garage Door Opener model 139.53970SRT manufactured 9/2000 with 'RED' learn button and no DIP switches. 3/2011 purchased the Skylink 69P remote to replace our 2nd Craftsman remote (model 139.53859) which was damaged beyond repair. Was able to successfully get the Craftsman opener programmed for the Skylink 69P, but was NOT able to successfully add the still working Craftsman remote (139.53879) at the same time. Was able to program the Craftsman opener to 'learn' the Craftsman remote, or the Skylink 69P, but not both at the same time. We need two functional remotes. Called and discussed issue with Skylink customer service. They agreed that this has been a problem with some Craftsman openers. Don't know why. I wish this issue had been included in the product description so it wouldn't have been a surprise. Skylink assured me that the Craftsman opener would successfully operate with 'two' Skylink remotes. So, I purchased a second Skylink 69P to replace the still functioning Craftsman remote. Was SUCCESSFUL in getting Craftsman opener to 'learn' and operate with both Skylink 69P remotes. Total cost of two Skylink 69P remotes is slightly less than cost for one Craftsman remote. All is well that ends well.

So, I returned the G6MR and ordered the 69N and guess what. It is not compatible with the U100! According to the first support tech it is, but the second one says they mad a mistake. So I have to make another return to amazon and buy a model 66C!
Just not worth all the aggravation.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works, January 26, 2010

I purchased the 69N for our Villa in the Caribbean, they work fine for years.
It was a little challenging to get the right replacement battery.
It's easy to program, a code inside and then the right frequency.
Great product, it works from about 100 ft away.

The remote was set up exactly as instructed, and as other users articulated, we couldn't get it to work. The "customer service' dept. was pretty much worthless.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good value, January 21, 2012

A bit difficult to figure out how to get it keyed right to fit my garage, and it sometimes doesn't work to open the garage on the first button press or two (that's probably a function of range, I haven't really tested the range). But all in all, a good value and I'd buy one again if I needed another replacement.

2.0 out of 5 stars Universal garage door opener, December 19, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Skylink 69P Universal Garage Door Remote Control (Tools & Home Improvement)
Several years ago we purchased two universal garage door openers that looked identical to these. The first ones were simple to install...simply match the code on the door opener and you were in business. Needing a way to get into our elderly parents home in a emergency, we bought two more to carry in the car. These were anything but easy to install. It was a several step process and ultimately it would not work on their garage door...it would only turn on the light. My brother-in-law gave up trying to make it work. We will keep them and attempt to program them to our door for backup units. I certainly liked the old version much better.

4.0 out of 5 stars Works, but could be smaller and more durable, November 30, 2011

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Skylink 69P Universal Garage Door Remote Control (Tools & Home Improvement)
Log ago, I had a giant clicker remote for my building's garage gate. Then in 2005 I replaced it with a much smaller Skylink 68. Last week I decided to buy a couple more, only to find on the Skylink page that this remote has been replaced by the "69N". Adding to the confusion, Amazon seems to be selling this 69P instead, and I wasn't sure if or how that differed from the 69N. I couldn't find anything on the Skylink site about the 69P.

For $14 each, I decided it was worth the risk and I purchased a couple 69Ps. The good news is that these (after proper dip switch configuration) open the gate just fine. Unfortunately, the 69P isn't quite as compact as the 68. It is slightly taller because they added a couple "brand selection" dip switches. It is roughly 70 x 35 x 12 millimeters. I guess the extra dip switches help it work with more gates, but doesn't really help me any. Particularly when a main selling point is the small keychain form factor. Another (minor) problem is that the batter/settings cover is difficult to get off without breaking off the little tabs that hold it on. You just have to pry it open and hope for the best.

While I'd prefer a smaller more durable remote, this thing does the job at a great price. And the batter lasts for years. Four stars.
