5.0 out of 5 stars FREE BIRD!!
My buddy had this CD years ago about 10 years ago and I ruined it. This was my gateway into classic rock. I'm so glad they brought it back. I bought a replacement for him and one for me. For a Greatest Hits album that is almost 20 years old, it does the trick. It's the only album I could find the outtake version of my favorite song. 10:06 of bliss. Not to say any of the...

Not to say any of the more recent compilations are more complete, but this is a great way to learn what Skynyrd's all about.

This review is from: Skynyrd's Innyrds (Audio CD)
I found some of the tracts on this album pleasing. My taste in music is varied but selective. I like some R&B, Smooth and regular jazz, bluegrass old school.

This is a masterpiece coming from the Greatest Band out of the seventies. Five stars aren't enough for this album.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must-buy for any Lynyrd Skynyrd fan., July 9, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Skynyrd's Innyrds (Audio CD)
This truly has the greatest hits of my favorite Southern band. It has their response to Neil Young's "Sothern Man", "Sweet Home Alabama", along with "Free Bird". All the songs are good and this is an essential album for any fan.

5.0 out of 5 stars Essential for any fan of American music!, July 7, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Skynyrd's Innyrds (Audio CD)
With the songs on this album, Lynyrd Skynyrd changed the face of American music, blurred the line between country and rock, and brought both to a new high. If you enjoy either of these genres, you owe yourself this album. The single best song is "Free Bird," but they're all worth listening to more than once. The slight racial and political tendencies of the lyrics might bother some, but they're far more representative of an era than of the artists themselves.

3.0 out of 5 stars THAT SMELLS!, October 3, 2010

Jukebox Dave (RECORD TOWN, USA) - See all my reviews
LYNYRD SKYNRD-SKYNYRD'S INNYRDS/THEIR GREATEST HITS: Southern rocks' greatest band was unfairly shortchanged by a compilation with a title this unappetizing...particularly given their grisly fate over three decades ago. Sorely lacking in enough actual "best of" moments, INNYRDS leaves out dixie fried staples too numerous to mention in favor of comparative duds like SWAMP MUSIC and DOUBLE TROUBLE. You also get a pedestrian reading of the big-rig warhorse TRUCK DRIVIN' MAN, which J. Geils covered a helluva lot better. FREE BIRD makes an appearance here, natch; it's the most overplayed 70s radio staple this side of STAIRWAY-TO-YOU-NOWHERE. In the "plus" column, the grand Neil Young slam SWEET HOME ALABAMA, cautionary classic THAT SMELL, and rowdy roadhouse romp GIMME THREE STEPS all demonstrate how seamlessly Ronnie Van Zant and these boogie boys fused rock, RNB and country. For a much easier to digest Skynyrd legacy package, check out their first and still greatest comp GOLD AND PLATINUM. Score that rascal and like the man sez: "TURN IT UP!"

RATING: THREE BIRDS

1.0 out of 5 stars Where are the good Ones?, August 25, 2004
This review is from: Skynyrd's Innyrds (Audio CD)
What rocket scientists came up with this poor excuse for a Best of... Album? Considering that Skynyrd only produced a couple of studio albums it is strange that several of their best songs are not included. The most glaring omission is "Tuesdays gone", they also should have had "Simple Man", "Curtis Loew", and "the Needle and the Spoon". These songs are much better than some of the songs that were included. I hate to give only one star to an album by A great band like this, but it is just not what I am looking for in a Greatest Hits album
