4.0 out of 5 stars I had the same issue
I had the same issue as the one reviewer. When the glasses arrived they were a little bent, but I just heated them with a lighter and allowed them to cool, and now they're great. They have stayed that way for a while now, so I believe the one reviewer needs to use heat and he shouldn't have to keep adjusting his/hers. I wear glasses as well and have quite a large head...

3.0 out of 5 stars Arrived bent, heavy, yet does what it says (after fixing).
The glasses came and the prisms were not perfectly parallel, resulting in a double image. I took them to a local optomitrist and they bent them straight for me (for free - thanks EA optical!). They said that I could have used a hair dryer to warm them up and bend them straight and recommended to not to try and bend them when cool (too brittle).

The glasses...

They have stayed that way for a while now, so I believe the one reviewer needs to use heat and he shouldn't have to keep adjusting his/hers. I wear glasses as well and have quite a large head and they work great. You just have to let your prescription glasses ride low and put the prism glasses higher on your face. My only issue, and the reason I don't give a five star, is that the bows are a little rigid, and I have a wide face so they are tight, and after a while of wearing them, the pressure causes some discomfort.

The glasses are a bit heavy, but ok because I use them when laying down anyways, so they don't slide down the bridge of my nose. Watching TV or reading a book is fine. It takes some time to get adjusted to turning pages or writing with them on.

All in all, they do what they are intended for. I like watching TV with them and I don't have to prop my head up and crank my neck. It's funny to be able to see your lips, too! I don't require corrective glasses, so I don't know if they really work over regular glasses. However, being a physics teacher, it is a good demonstration for reflection and refraction.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love Them!, March 15, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Bed Prism Spectacles (Toy)
I bought these for my husband and he loves them! He uses them to read, so can't comment on using them for TV. They arrived in perfect alignment, and are well made. He uses reading glasses, so to avoid the need to wear both the bed specs and reading glasses we came up with a solution others might want to use. We bought "stick ons" that change any pair of glasses into bi-focal reading glasses. They fill the lenses/prisms and work great; you can always remove them if someone else will be using them and doesn't need magnification.

At the time I bought them, Scientific's Online had the best price and quality for this item on Amazon. I see that someone else now has a better price by about $2.00, but don't know if it is worth the risk. I can say I had a perfect experience as far as price, quality, and service from S.O./Edmund's.

5.0 out of 5 stars Prism glasses have helped a great deal..., October 1, 2008
= Durability:4.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:5.0 out of 5 stars
The prism glasses are wonderful. Having a terrible neck, they have eased a lot of strain....I even had my husband use them to help slow down his disc degeneration. I have given them to 5 others who have loved them...including my doctor!. I also experienced the problem that the glasses felt too close to my eyes. I fixed that problem with a strip of velcro wrapped around the bridge of the glasses. Adjust the length for your face and if you need to wear prescriptive glasses, it is easier to wear the prism ones over them with the velcro. I also took a pair of inexpensive reading glasses, removed the lenses and attached them to the prism glasses with rubber bands....I know, I look odd wearing them, but boy does my neck feel better reading and watching TV! The bit of effort it may take (and you may not need any adjustment!)to make these fit is well worth it! Good luck!

3.0 out of 5 stars Cool Product. Lots of room to improve., July 31, 2008

I like the idea of bed spectacles. However, there are a lot of rooms to improve. It will be a much better product if it is a bit lighter, the mirror angle can be adjusted, and it is not too close to my eyes so I won't feel the discomfort that it touches my eyelashes all the time (height can be adjusted somehow). Again, I like the product and I won't return it, but I will give it 3 stars only.

3.0 out of 5 stars bed spectacles good, but not great, March 1, 2009
This review is from: Bed Prism Spectacles (Toy)
These glasses work fine for reading in bed, since your vision target is 1 foot away from the prisms. Watching TV (or something else 8+ feet away) is unplesant though... because the prisms are not aimed properly. They force your eyes to diverge slightly, or else you see double images of everything on-screen. You can't just forget about the glasses and enjoy television, and you can't adjust or re-aim the prisms.

4.0 out of 5 stars More good than bad, July 5, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Bed Prism Spectacles (Toy)
These glasses definitely work, but are better suited for reading rather than watching TV because they shrink the size of whatever you watch. thus, if you're more than a couple feet from a TV (and I wouldn't recommend lying closer), the tV is too small to see. As for books and/or a laptop, the product needs to be right up near your chin. The glasses are soundly made and even look good, but the viewing mirrors are just a little too small and you have to tilt your head up/down/left/right depending on where you are on the page. Still, if you have a bad neck, these are a good alternative, although lying down for too long makes me sleepy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wierd glasses seen in Movie the Bucket List, June 29, 2010

My wife has a problem holding up heavy objects, including books. She loves to read but was not able to read a hardback book while lying down. The glasses enable her to rest the book on her chest an lie completely flat in order to read. When sitting up she leaves it in her lab, look s straight ahead and reads. What a wonderful idea. These glasses are absolutely fantastic. A must for ANYONE with neck or back problems and not really very expensive

4.0 out of 5 stars great product, does what it says, worth the money, January 15, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Bed Prism Spectacles (Toy)
I use these so i can lay in bed and work on my laptop. Works even better with my wireless keyboard and mouse, as i can move the laptop close to me and my arms out straight. Much more comfortable than a desk.
I have no physical limitations, its just more comforatable.
The only reason it doesn't get a 5 star is the lens poped out and i had to glue it back in. not a big deal, but the seller should do a bit of quality testing.

I had great hopes for these glasses because I have a bad neck. The part that works is great! The prism makes the text very bright & clear & I can keep my head flat. BUT, I can only read the bottom half of the page unless I hold the glasses & tip them, & tilt my head farther back, etc. These would be perfect if I could read the whole page.
