This album, which is the 3rd public album from Two Steps From Hell, has a lot more than the typical epic trailer music. That being said, the epic trailer music that's on the album feels a like a lot more than generic advertisement tracks. I was surprised to find music ranging between pop styled epic and classical. Too be honest, I really love to see classical side of TSFH. As for the pop, I was moderately surprised to see some lyrical songs. I know a lot of major trailer music albums have Latin or some mysterious imaginary language, but there were actual lyrical songs on here. Don't worry, they're certainly not the typical pop song you might hear on the radio. They have the TSFH flair, that fans desire. It's just a breath of fresh air in an unoriginal world.

What makes this album better than other trailer music albums, or even many major film soundtracks, is that there are so many great themes. Every melody is brought out of the songs, and the harmony nearly always compliments it. Sometimes, the themes are so powerful, that you feel as though you're watching some kind of story. One can visualize and feel the adventure popping out of the music. TSFH truly sparks the imagination. It is a healthy escape from reality, which I find not only entertaining but motivational and mentally refreshing. Emphasis on the refreshing; especially when looking at today's music.

With this being Two Steps From Hell's 3rd major public album (4th when considering Halloween), I'm surprised to find that it never feels generic. They can't seem to make too many epic songs. It's incredible. Honestly, I wish I could see Thomas Bergersen and Nick Phoenix working for day, just to see their thought process. As an aspiring film maker, I'd love to see how such great minds think.

TSFH, if you read this. Don't settle for average and keep up the great work! Sincerely your biggest fan,
Tim Freeman

Before I start, please understand: SkyWorld is not Archangel; SkyWorld is not Invincible; SkyWorld is not Illusions.
SkyWorld is an entirely new album from Two Steps from Hell. It has different feel. Archangel was angelic and very choral; Invincible was darker, heavier, and had a "warrior" feel to it. SkyWorld is an aggregate of different sounds--some worked, some didn't. Yes, the first track contains dubstep; listen to it for a few times, though, before you make your judgement. El Dorado is absolutely amazing, as is SkyWorld, Big Sky, Sun & Moon (my favorite in this album, reminiscent of Illusions), For the Win, Winterspell, Ocean Kingdom, and Blackheart. There are violins, Eastern-sounding wailing, electronic elements, and the classical strings and choirs; and yes, there are two songs with English lyrics. Back to Earth is the only TSFH song that I actually find atrocious. SkyWorld is less of a journey than TSFH's other albums, and I don't really like the sequence of the tracks. However, this album still gets five stars because it is lightyears ahead of other trailer music albums. SkyWorld crumples Trailerhead into a little tin-foil ball and throws it in the trash bin. TSFH still has original melodies, a great value (utterly fantastic value!), and most importantly, the composers' rich emotion is present in every track.
I recommend you buy this album immediately. You will not be disappointed.

Two Steps from Hell has released another masterpiece. "Invincible" and "Archangel" were masterpieces themselves. So how do you follow up those albums? TSFH did it with Skyworld. It's been my favorite album since it's release, especially when I am up driving around in Colorado's mountains. I specifically recommend "El Dorado", "Winterspell" and "Blackheart". Stop reading these reviews and buy the album. It's only $8, but frankly as good as it is I'd have paid $25.

I'm always on the lookout for good background music to write to, and my goodness, this album is incredible. Winterspell is breathtaking - I had to stop what I was doing and just sit back in awe. Aside from one or two tracks, this is like an entire album of those epic movie themes that make you imagine endless beautiful landscapes or fantastic cities or battles between Good and Evil. This may be the best money I've spent so far this year!

I don't know where it came from, or where it will end. However this music is intensely EPIC. No matter what you are doing, this music will make it better! It takes you on a surreal adventure you want to join. Incredible emotion infused into each track.

A truly worthy followup to Archangel. Every bit as epic and enjoyable. If you're a Two Steps From Hell fan, you will not be disappointed.

Two Steps From Hell has never disappointed me before (in their previous two albums) and "Skyworld" makes good on their reputation. It's an intense ride all the way through, with some very good touches of dubstep, pop, and some actual vocals (that aren't simply for ambience). The music really feels like it tells a story. Great album!
