an even-handed approach, April 20, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Slackware Linux Essentials (Paperback)
This book is presently being revised by the Slackware team and the new will include information that is a bit more pertinent to some of the more recent releases of Slackware. In spite of that, this book was excellently written to start with and still presents and easy-to-follow presentation of the installation. It is a great to start whether you are just beginning or are coming to linux from a former experience with System V or Solaris. I highly recommend this book. (Only four stars because it is more germaine to the older releases.)

Exactly that the Essentials Needed!, April 15, 2003
This review is from: Slackware Linux Essentials (Paperback)
I know absolutly nothing about linux. Using this book I was able to install and configure linux slackware. It was very easy reading and quick to the point. [...] Only complaint is I want to learn more. But I have learned no book contains all the info I'll ever need.
