This book was a used book for a very attractive price. I could not tell it from a brand new book when I unwrapped it. It is a great true story of one of the many submarine exceptionals from the Pacific theater of WWII. Thanks amazon.

Every so often in life you meet someone where you least expect it. I first 'met' Slade Cutter in the obituaries. His obituary. Mentioned along with a myriad of other details about his fascinating life and career was this book. I knew I had to find out more. Well researched and deftly written by author Carl Lavo, Slade Cutter: Submarine Warrior fulfills the necessary requirements of a biography, but reaches further to open a window onto a little known (to the general population) hero of World War II.

"SLADE CUTTER"..just hearing the man sounds like something an author woudl dream up....Not in this case he was a real Submarine Commander during WW2 and one of the best!!! His name brings it all to bear in this auto-bio.

It is a great book about the man and the submarine service during World War 2 it is worth the price and one of the great books you'll every read.

This book depicts Captain Cutter's life very well. The book is not only about his heroic feats as a Captain in WWII, but in other areas of his life as well. In everything Captain Slade Cutter attempted he did it with integrity and passion.

Very good and informative book. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. Good history and early background. Would highly recommed buying this book
