Book Description

May 1, 1999
A creativity starter kit for teens (and adults with a sense of humor), Slam has been described by print and TV media as "part year book, doodle sheet, autograph book, and diary" and "a kinder, gentler reinvention" of the Slam books of decades past. Slam offers 55 questions for teens to answer anonymously and creatively, then circulate to friends for their opinions and observations. Author, Morris-Dobie dubs it "an interactive commentary and confessional with no guilt or fear." Slam comes shrink wrapped with a humorous warning label sticker, extra stickers and a Slam tip sheet.

Review

"You have to be invited into these pages. With a strict warning on its cover, Slam is not recommended for reading by parents, teachers, perverts, prudes, psychotropic losers or inhibited individuals...Only those with a functioning brain can leave their mark." -- Honolulu Star Bulletin, January 8, 1999 --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

About the Author

Claire Morris-Dobie is a former television news reporter and anchor (Philadelphia and San Francisco), who now heads her own public relations and marketing company, Morris Communications, Inc., aka "Camp Claire" where the work she does for small companies is 99% fun and 100% inspirational. A native of Philadelphia and a cum laude graduate of Temple University, she writes freelance for various magazines and for two years wrote a humorous column on the "idio-SIN-crasies" (sic) of the English language called "You Could Look It Up." Claire also taught advertising creativity at San Francisco State for three years. She lives and creates on the island of Kauai and frequently makes public appearances to lead SLAM SESSIONS that will inspire teens to release their creativity in positive ways. Claire is currently working on a Slam sequel called Slam This designed for adults who recognize the value of a sense of humor and a working creative spirit. --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.
