Much Funk,
By
This review is from: Slap Me Five (Audio CD)
This album is far too funky for its own good. it's got horns, beats, rhymes (courtesy of the talented Pete Miser); everything you could ever want from a funk album. so go out and buy it. P-Town, uh-oh!!

I never heard of these guys till I decided to go bar hopping and stumbled into this little place in Salt Lake City. I loved the show, bought the cd from Pete himself, and discovered hip hop again. The cd is great, but if you ever have a chance, see them live... you'll never be the same.

Raw but awesome,

Their first (and the one I like the most, though About Time is more mature and better in many ways). I discovered these fellows by watching a freeride skiing video called the Continuum from Teton Gravity Research (check that out too - kicking soundtrack to end them all, apart from teh visual feast)This album kicks along with great rapping great jaz and funk - what a combination. Whatsyourassworth, Pass the Vibe and Funky97 are the best of their grenre let alone best on the album!

Five Fingers is one of the last true hip hop bands, and suprisingly they go almost unrecognized, you cant find their stuff in stores and thats part of why it is so cool.

True hip-hop that goes unrecognized,

This review is from: Slap Me Five (Audio CD)
The Five Fingers of Funk(F3) stick to the true roots of hip hop and they mix it with funk, reggae, and jazz like no other band has ever done. The beats and rhymes are sure to get anybody movin' that has a little soul in them. Check it out and then tell your friends because music like this is what needs to be recognized, not those phony rappers like Master P, Puff Daddy, and Eminem.

F3 has a style all their own. This cd should be in your collection. It rocks in and out. Their mix of ska, rap, and hip hop is just plain funky.
