3.5 stars - old school thrash,

This review is from: Slaughter House (Audio CD)
New Jersey thrashers Slaughter House released their debut album on Metal Blade in 1990. The band was part of a wave of new thrash metal bands (Powermad and Wrathchild America also come to mind) to emerge in the wake of the breakout success of bands like Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth and the like.
Slaughter House may not have been operating on the same level as the "A-List" thrash bands, but they certainly did their best to copy those bands' formula. Instead of pushing the boundaries or carving their own sound like Anacrusis or Solitude, Slaughter House is pretty much doing the Bay Area thing via Jersey. But, hey, if you want fast riffing, blazing solos and sharp vocals you're gonna find them here. This is a totally solid, head-banging thrash metal album. It's not remotely original, but if you're a die-hard fan of the late `80s and early `90s thrash sound you probably won't care about that.
