With a group of four powerhouse emcees, Slaugherhouse pretty much set the tone with their self titled debut. The thing that held the album together was their lyrics. Truthfully I was dissapointed by the production, which could have made the album a whole lot better. Also what was in question was, would there be another group album? Luckily, aside from signing with Eminem (Royce's old time partner in rhyme), we have this short 28 minute EP with 6 songs. Truthfully the production is slighly better than the first, so thats an improvement. Leaving a fan with only 6 songs, with decent length in time for each, leaves a fan waiting for more. That being said, half of the songs on here are remixes of previously released songs, so this EP could be seen as something as something to hold fans over inbetween albums.

Theres not a whole lot I can say about this EP. Personally I find Crooked I to be the star of this EP. Each verse he spits is amazing, especially on "Movin On (Remix)". "Fight Club (Remix)" is great as well. "Everybody Down" is my favorite on here. "Back On The Scene" with Dres is okay, seeing that they used the hook from an old Black Sheep single. "Put Some Money On It (Remix)" featuring the LOX, you can tell it was Joell Ortiz featuring LOX with the other three members slapped at the end that doesn't really help or hurt the song.

This EP is solid for what it is. Given that this came out over a year since their debut, I wished there was a little more than this here. Grab this just to satisfy your Slaughterhouse needs. Hopefully their album on Shady Records will come out later on this year. Peace.

The real Hip-Hop is over here! For all of you who listen to the rap that's on the radio, newsflash, that is commercial rap not real hip hop. They are out to make a buck off of music, which is cool, gotta make a living right? These dudes right here known as Slaughterhouse slaughter the mic. That's the way it used to be done and still is done problem is you won't hear it on the radio. Lyrics galore. Do your best to get all of Slaughterhouse's music. They even have two free mix tapes online. One is called "On the House" and the other is called "House Rules". You can pull both of them from www.DatPiff.com. Look it up and listen to some real hip hop. Big up to all the real hip hop heads out there.

Don't be put off that this EP is only six tracks long. Trust me that EVERY SONG on this disc is a banger. Slaughterhouse doesn't rhyme, they attack every track on this disc like some hungry unsigned cats trying to get on. I'm not lying, every song is incredible, but if I had to pick one standout it has to be "Put Some Money on It" with D-Block, for the truest of hip-hop heads it is a throwback to the posse-cuts of old. Don't short yourself, buy it!

Screw the other review. This EP is 3 new tracks of PURE FIRE. Sorry if the hooks don't sound like pop songs buddy, this is HIP HOP. The punchlines are dope. The lyrics are DOPE. The rhyme skill of all four of these guys is amazing. The remixes turned out pretty good as well.
