5.0 out of 5 stars Lynam Rocks!
Anyone who likes 80's Rock and Roll will love this band.
I was amazed when I found out that they were only a 3 piece band; great guitar, outstanding vocals! I will definitely buy anything these guys put out and hope to catch them live sometime soon!!

3.0 out of 5 stars LYNAM IS OK !

This is a good rock n roller. I enjoyed its freshness and yet it harks back a couple of decades here and there. Im glad that I have it in my collection. I also have heard their other releases and this is by far the better of them all. Lynam and Zan Clan kinda go hand in hand except that the Clan has the upper hand and is a band that I would suggest before Lynam.

If you are one of those people that likes to be the first to discover the best new band to come along, you need this cd. Lynam manages to combine a driving rock beat with a lyrically driven melody that together produce some truly entertaining and compelling music. The energy and talent of frontman Jacob Lynam, the rapport of the bandmembers, and their ability to connect with a live audience are all going to help drive this group to the top.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent album, November 16, 2010

Been listening to rock for 25 yrs and I can say this is an excellent album. Of the two lynam albums this one is slightly harder and has a little more sleaze sound where as their second one, tragic city symphony has just a little more of todays radio rock sound. I like TCS but slave to the machine is better. You would never know this is a three man band. Great guitar (just one) and the songs have nice hooks with backing vocals. The songs have enough crunch to rock you and the hooks stick in your head. I bought 5 cds(both of the lynams)and got them all the same day. Stuck them all in my cd player and this is the one I keep going back too. It does what rock n roll is supposed to do, entertain you.

4.0 out of 5 stars Real, fun, rock n' roll!, September 3, 2010
This review is from: Slave to the Machine (Audio CD)
2006's Slave to the Machine is album number four from Alabama rockers Lynam. Lynam is one of a new wave of bands that are the antidote to whiny alternative rock and the dreary modern rock bands you hear on the radio. They play the kind of rock made popular by KISS, Cheap Trick, Motley Crue and Aerosmith. You know, when rock n' roll was fun?

Lynam is one of the best of this new breed. Their songs all completely rock, but they're balanced by great melodies and some insanely catchy guitar hooks and sing-along choruses. Slave to the Machine is like the perfect party rock album. It will get the girls dancing, the guys rocking, and everyone reaching for another drink and having a good time. By all accounts, they're a killer live act as well.

The bottom line is that it's impossible to play this album and not have a good time. Once it starts, you will rock out! What more can you ask for?

PS - If you like what you hear from Lynam, be sure to check out some of the other great American bands that are making rock n' roll fun again, like Endeverafter, Rockets to Ruin and Dirty Penny.

Very often, I find myself rocking out to this album as I get ready for the day. I actually enjoy it more than I had expected to. Great talent, a lot of energy to rock out to.

5.0 out of 5 stars 3 piece sounds like a 5...., August 1, 2006
This review is from: Slave to the Machine (Audio CD)

Jacob Bunton/Lynam does it again with this solid cd. From Jade's Dream to Wish to Mars Electric and now Lynam (did I miss anything??), he just keeps getting better and better and this disc is proof. While there is absolutely nothing ground breaking here, you will find 12 very infectious songs that will get (and stay) in your head.

And don't be fooled by the somewhat cheesy artwork on the cover or their punk-rocker looks. If you are, you'll miss out on an excellent cd. This disc is full of solid, 80s arena rock infused with modern rock. Great harmonies. Great riffs. The influences range from Bon Jovi to Weezer (By Your Side).

All 12 tracks are solid and will not disappoint.

I just caught this band live at the HOB in N. Myrtle Beach. They played a short set opening for Candlebox and rocked the place out. I'd recommend them to anyone who likes solid rock. Also, definitely try to catch them live of you can.

4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty Good, June 2, 2007
This review is from: Slave to the Machine (Audio CD)
Read a review in a magazine and bought this. Ignoring the fact that the band all have the same name - I am guessing more in the style of Hansen (they are related) rather than the Ramones - this is a really good modern melodic hard rock record.
