5.0 out of 5 stars Stomping, Crunching, Roaring, Mayhem, November 26, 1999

This review is from: Slave Zero (CD-ROM)
Set in a distant future where the world is dominated by a tyrant who commands of an army of giant robots. You are part of the resistance movement with a single proto-type robot to command and a tyrant to overthrow. That is the premise, now onto the action.

Your average robot/mech game has more of a simulation feel to it where the emphasis is on controlling all the functions and navigating a lumbering tank on legs. Slave Zero has taken a more action based with the robot acting much more human manner, a human 40 metres tall, made of metal and with a huge rocket pack on, but a human nevertheless. The action is fast and furious with your robot battling its way through varius cities fending off other robots and more conventional forces with an array of suitably oversized weaponry. The cities are alive with movement all of which is extremely disrupted when your robot comes pounding down the road blasting away at the fighters overhead. The game is graphically stunning taking advantage of all the latest 3D tweaks available. The sound is absorbing sucking you into believing you really are in a living city.

Overall a brilliant action game, the only potential dark cloud made be its long term appeal. I have not stopped smiling yet though.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good Robot Stomping Fun, January 3, 2001

The graphics are very good although the game does have some clipping problems (I got stuck in a wall once) but it is a lot of fun to play. However there are too many "jumping puzzles" for my taste that detract from the robot bleasting action.

5.0 out of 5 stars one of the best furturistic games ever!, August 31, 2000
This review is from: Slave Zero (CD-ROM)
I started playing this game and ten minutes later i was hooked. Very fun once you get good at it. It really gives you the sense that you're in the game. And I must say, the graphics and sound are some of the best I've seen in many computer games! Enjoy it.
