Great story, unforgettable villains!,
By Kurt A. Johnson (North-Central Illinois, USA) - See all my reviews (HALL OF FAME REVIEWER) (VINE VOICE) (TOP 100 REVIEWER) (REAL NAME)
This review is from: Secret of the Slavers Stockade (Advanced Dungeons & Dragons module A2) (Paperback)
A2: Secret of the Slavers Stockade is an AD&D (1st edition) adventure module for six to eight characters of level four to seven. This module picks up immediately after A1: Slave Pits of the Undercity, when the player characters (PCs) have arrived at the next link in the slavers' chain. There is a hill fort that the slavers are using for the processing and distribution of slaves, and it is up to the PCs to shut this operation down, and find out who is behind it all. But, this fort is no pushover, there are a lot of baddies in it and the PCs are going to have their hands full! This module is the second in a series of four. These modules are generally considered four of the finest modules to come out of AD&D 1st edition, and no one should skip past them. This module has a great story and interesting tricks and traps, but what is most interesting are the unforgettable villains - a blind man who fights like a devil, an intelligent ogre with a special sword and an evil elf with her revolting creations. Also, this module includes four new monsters (the Phantom, Boggles, Cloakers, and Haunts). So, if you are running an AD&D campaign, and want to treat your players to one of the best adventures every written, then get this module!

Excellent adventure of espionage and intrigue!,

This review is from: Secret of the Slavers Stockade (Advanced Dungeons & Dragons module A2) (Paperback)
David Cook's classic series continues as the adventures locate the sinister town of Highport, the secret hideout of the Pomarj Slavelords. A quick, dirty raid in true hack-n-slash style will make things right, eh? Well, that's what the last pack of adventurers thought... Having slaughtered the orcs in Highport's sinister temple of Gruumsh, and their overlord, the adventurers journey into the wild Drachensgrab Hills, in search of a great fortress where the Slavers reign supreme. An intense, gritty classic of AD&D gaming for levels 4-7.
