Book Description

April 4, 2003
A predator pedophile serial killer had been on the loose for many years. More than 16 young boys throughout the Midwest, California, Oklahoma and Arizona had disappeared under very similar circumstances and at least 14 had been discovered murdered. This pedophile predator had made the Midwest his killing field from 1972 until 1979 when a handful of dedicated lawmen finally caught his track. These lawmen, from 7 states and many different agencies, joined forces to hunt this predator down before he could kill again.

Slayer of Innocence is a true narrative account of that desperate struggle.

Editorial Reviews

From the Publisher

Slayer of Innocence, told by the author who lived it, is a true narrative account of the events that took place before, during and after this widespread, exhaustive investigation.

You, the reader, will be carried along with the lawmen on this intense investigation as though you had been there. You will also discover many great tips on how to reduce the chances of your child becoming a victim of other predator pedophile serial killers.

From the Author

I wrote this book to make the public aware of the predator pedophile monster that roamed these United States at will preying upon children. Whether you call them pedophiles, pedophiliacs, child abductors, child molesters, serial child killers or slayers of innocence, they are menace to society. Many are deadly predators who lurk like dark shadows among our children waiting to pounce upon them at will.

Though we managed to get this killer off the streets, there are many more just like him that have not been caught.

5.0 out of 5 stars A tragic story! March 28, 2013
By Jaye

This story needed to be told. Difficult as it was to read it was a lesson in not taking for granted
what is around us. The killler in this case blended in and was not noticed even as he picked up
boy after boy. He had a way of attracting them. Sounding like a train whistle, he would get the
boys to come over to him to see what he was about. He seemed so harmless looking like a typical
hobo.
Then he would lure them away and they would not be seen again. The tracking of this killer and his eventual capture is suspenseful reading.

This is a well written book.

5.0 out of 5 stars This book gave me chills... August 17, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I grew up in Pekin, IL during the early seventies when Richard Griener and Mark Helmig went missing so this book especially gave me chills. Linda and Pam Helmig were in classes with me, and Mark was only a few years younger than us, so I remember very vividly both his disappearance and when he was found. But, as a child, I was never really told exactly what happened. I have more respect today for the Pekin Police Department than I ever have and would do anything to see Linda and Pam again to tell them how very sorry I am for their loss. As children, we certainly did not pay them and their family the respect, nor offer them the sympathy, that they deserved. So many children were cruel about the matter and I thank God that I can say I was not one of them. I just wish I had done more to let them know how bad I felt at the time. The crime against their brother and so many other innocent boys by this monster is unimaginable! This book is a great read about a subject that none of us want to talk about but reality dictates that we must!!!
