5.0 out of 5 stars In three words an Excellent read, May 15, 2008
This review is from: Slayer (Paperback)
I don't want to spoil it so only a few words on the story itself: The Slayer, Alek Knight, a dhamphir, is member of a secret coven which is sworn to service the Vatican controlling the Vampire hives of New York hunting those who do not bend to the rules of the one Church. Until the hunter becomes the hunted by the very coven he has sworn loyalty to. This first book in the Slayer series is action packed and very well written as are all the books in this series. Karen Koehler has a unique way of drawing the dark universe of the Slayer a.k.a. "Slayerverse" into the reader's imagination. Her conception of Alek is so good I dare say he is one of the truest protagonists I had the luck to encounter during all the different books I've read. To be quite fair all her characters despite their fictional origins become so real one might think they truly exist amongst us and I think that THAT says it all. I highly recommend this book not only to those who like vampires and dark stories but to anyone who likes a well written book.
