Sled, much like thompsons other work (Lion in the Streets, White Biting Dog, The Crackwalker) is terribly disturbing while managing to be extremely beautiful. Her use of language is like an everyday version of poetry. She can make anything sound beautiful, even death. Which she does in Sled. PLEASE read ms. thompsons plays. they are a gift.
