PreS-K-Every night, a little girl chants the prayer "Angels, Angels, all around/Angels, Angels, come surround./Hold my hand throughout the night/Guide me from the dark to light." Then one evening, a beautiful angel with snowy white wings visits and asks her what she would do if she had wings. The child imagines making a "necklace out of stars," playing with the "fluffy cloud animals," and sliding down a rainbow. She awakes to find a white feather, as soft as velvet, in her bed. The textured illustrations in heavenly blues are predictably pretty. They feature angels of different races and fanciful blue borders that surround the saccharine text. There are no surprises here and no real plot. If you are looking for a sweet book on angels, this will fill the need. Otherwise, let this one fly by.-Karen K. Radtke, Milwaukee Public Library

Judy Kuusisto's beautiful illustrations perfectly support Elizabeth Collins' inspiring and reassuring text. Children of all ages are encouraged to "fly with their angels", dance among the clouds, slide down rainbows, and bask in the glow of the moon. To Sleep With The Angels is ideal for bedtime reading and naptime story hour.

To Sleep With the Angels
I think you do not have to be particulary a believing christ to adore this book. This is a poem to the power of believe ! The angel illustrations doe not show us the classical angels. Those are tanned, oliv, dressed like indian, asian, from where they may have came from ... it shows me a great respect of different cultures and different believes ! What we believe will come true. I have a little girl what suffered from nighttroubles sometimes. Very often she already told me: "Mum, come stay with me. I am afraid of the night." I bought this book hoping to bring a peace and confidence by going to bed. It was the right book. My little girl prays every night: "Angels, Angels all around ...", holding my hand and closing the eys. She even told me, she sees her granddad (who died years ago and she still misses him very much - as we all do) with big white wings. He is her guardian angel. What ever she sees so joyfully! It makes me very happy that this book helped us. Hereby our best compliments to Author and Designer !
