Finally, a treatment of the subject of babies and sleep that aims to help parents instead of espousing a particular ideology! "Sleep Like a Baby" presents, without judgment, various methods for helping your child learn to sleep, including the famous "Ferber" method as well as the co-sleeping method touted by the Sears and other proponents of "attachment" parenting. This video recognizes that different families and babies will have different realities, requirements, tolerance levels, attitudes, etc. around this issue. The featured experts are articulate and informative, but I loved all the parent testimonials the most. Everyone can find *someone* in this video to relate to! And there's good racial diversity in the video too---something all too lacking in parenting media. How refreshing to see something on this subject that doesn't make parents feel guilty, but actually presents them with options. Production values also very high. This would be a great gift for new parents.

As a nurse, lactation consultant and mother of two, I found "Sleep Like A Baby" to be a wonderful, well-rounded resource for new and expectant parents. The producers have done an excellent job researching the current philosophies on helping a baby sleep through the night and do a great job presenting them in an un-biased way. Their approach is supportive, accurate and humorous. I feel every new parent would benefit from seeing this video.

This tape gives a good overview of the various schools of sleep theory out there. It does not have step by step advice for your situation, but presents the theories for you to choose from and read up on further.
