5.0 out of 5 stars Best sleep ever!
We bought the foam mattress topper to get my son to sleep in his bed, not the floor. He loves it, in fact I love it so much that I want one for my own bed. It comes packaged wonderfully and just unfolds to fit the bed. It is so comfy and I highly recommend it!

1.0 out of 5 stars You get what you pay for.
I thought I had found a deal on Amazon. I was mistaken. The product is a little disappointing. In comparison to other memory foam toppers I have on other beds, this one neither offers the same support or bounces back the same. It was also cut irregularly. I had let it air out for a couple days before putting it to use, but the ends of the foam were crooked. Also,...

5.0 out of 5 stars He must like it, February 2, 2006

This review is from: Sleep Better 3-Inch Visco Elastic Memory Foam Mattress Topper, Twin (Kitchen)
I bought it for my 14 yr old son who sleeps all over the bed, upside down, legs hanging off, I'm never sure where I am going to find him in the morning. Since adding the topper he has moved at all. It is a little shorter and narrower but I don't find that a problom. The sheets keep it in place. When first opened it needs the body heat to get out the creases and take the shape. I am ordering another for my younger son. I find the topper as comfortable as my tempurpedic though i never spent the entire night on it.

5.0 out of 5 stars My Son's Sleep Habits are Transformed, November 19, 2006
I would come in in the moring to find his blankets all twisted around him, pillows everywhere, depicting a night filled with movement. He slept on his pad for the first time last night, and for the first time I walked in, and he was under the blankets and sheets still evenly laid over his bed, as they were the night before, depicting far less movement during the night.

1.0 out of 5 stars Nasty, Toxic smell, November 29, 2009
This review is from: Sleep Better 3-Inch Visco Elastic Memory Foam Mattress Topper, Twin (Kitchen)
I ordered to replace an older topper purchased ages ago from Target. This topper is basically just rough cut industrial foam: No tapering on the edges, no cover. The cut size is approximate---not refined. It arrived in a clear plastic trash bag. It smells so strong and sharp we could not sleep and had to move to the guest room. Save your time---pay $20 more for one designated for sleeping (non Toxic, with a cover)

4.0 out of 5 stars Cheap way to upgrade your mattress, December 28, 2008

I bought this mattress pad a few weeks ago and am only giving it 4 stars instead of 5 stars because of the "newness" smell that others have written about. I let the mattress pad air outside for about 12 hours before putting it on the bed, but it still has the new smell (a few weeks later). It's not so bad that it's a hindrance, it's just obvious if you really try to smell it (I'm sure some Febreze would likely take care of the odor). The mattress pad itself is really comfortable. I feel like I have a brand new mattress and am sleeping really comfortably. This was a really good purchase. Caution however....when the foam pad is shipped, it's rolled very tightly then shrinkwrapped in plastic. The outside edges get kind of mashed together and hard. When I first opened it, I thought it was going to stay really mashed and hard and I'd have to return it, but after airing it out for several hours, the foam found it's softness and natural shape. Before putting it on the bed, let it expand to it's natural shape for a day or so (and try to do something about the odor). Just don't expect to take it out of the box and put it on the bed straight away.

4.0 out of 5 stars VOC's aside, its great!, September 4, 2008
This review is from: Sleep Better 3-Inch Visco Elastic Memory Foam Mattress Topper, Twin (Kitchen)
I got one of these things used from my mom, so I didn't get a chance to smell the VOC's when it was new. Then I moved cross country and left my foam topper on the other side of the US (Pacific Coast). I just bought one from another retailer (C*stc0) and it smelled to Formaldehyde. :(

I remember Formaldehyde was used in the older formulations of paint I made at work. The Formaldehyde is used as a Fungicide or Biocide to deter bio-contamination. So let it air out (or 'off-gas' as we say in chemistry) outside before you use it.

I bought it because it was so great to sleep on and my back missed it sooo much. It made my bed very comfortable, so it was hard form me to kick people off the bed when I wanted to sleep! So I had to give it 4 stars instead of 5 stars. :)

Now that I'm on the East Coast my back was killing me and I went to purchase the foam topper. I missed it soo much that I don't mind the Formaldehyde smell... after I let it air out.

I bought this topper for my cousin who has Fibro-Myalgia (spelling ??). She had slept in my bed on a recent vacation and raved about mine. She told me it was the first night of uninterupted sleep in years. I originally purchased mine for back pain after buying three mattress's. This topper did the trick; everyone in my family now has one !

5.0 out of 5 stars 3-inch Visco Memory Foam Mattress Topper, June 24, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I accidentally ordered the full size when I really wanted the queen, but decided to keep the mattress topper and put it on the bed of one of my spare bedrooms. I slept on it 1 night, due to insomnia & not wanting to keep my husband awake. I read a book for a while, turned off the light & slept so good! I told my husband next day, that I might be moving out of the master bedroom. Anyway, I found sleeping on this mattress topper to be LUXURIOUS!

Chose this product following moderately thorough online search. It received very good reviews and price is reasonable compared to other brands. Tough to sort through all the types. 3" thickness enough to make a 10 year old mid line mattress very comfortable and eliminated need for a new mattress. Make sure you buy sheets with sufficient "depth" to accommodate topper and mattress.
