Sleep My Child is a comforting bed-time book for babies, preschool-age children, and early readers. The free audio download is great for pre-readers to
follow along with the text.

This is an excellant book to read to children at bed or nap time. It is also a great book for beginning readers. It has an audio download with the author reading that is just perfect for bedtime. Three thumbs up!

I believe this is a great book for parents to read to their younger children. While they give the most precious gift of time to their children, it gives an encouragement to imagine and dream. In this world where everything is supposed to "fit in the box", I think allowing children to stretch and grow and broaden their field of vision is imperative.

As children get older and they read this book for themselves, they may also relate to the illustrations like the stuffed dog, blanket, quilt, footie pajamas and things they may find familiar to them. Because the recorded versions are available now, children can access the book in many different ways.

Eyvonna Rains has written a lovely little book for children that will be requested at bedtime over and over by children from 4 - 8 years. Even children a little younger will like the lilt of the story as they go through each page. I wish I had young `grand's to read it to at night. Some of my favorite memories at that age are of my mother and grandmother sitting next to my bed at night telling stories or reading to me.
The author relates all of the beneficial aspects of sleep such as helping a child to grow and retain things that a child has learned. Then, she tells of dreams that a child will have.

"Think, now, of unicorns, stars, and moonbeams"

Read this book to your child, or download the audio that comes free with the book and let them listen to it as they pour over the pages with the bright and colorful illustrations by Kristen Polson.

What an adorable book to read to your little children as they are drifting off to sleep. Reading this book is sweet and gentle and will ease the transition from awake time to dreaming of fairyland. "Tuck your child in gently under the blanket of sleep" is such a wonderful sentence in this book. Eyvonna Rains is as gentle and sweet as the way she writes. The illustrations in the book are beautiful, soothing and whimsical. What a wonderful gift to give to young children or parents about to have children. They will ask to have it read over and over. I love the scripture verse at the end of the book from Proverbs 3:24. "When you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet."

Having raised two children, working on a third, and having countless number of foster children pass through our home, I have seen a lot of children's books. Sleep My Child certainly deserves to be ranked among the best. Author Eyvonna Rains has written what I believe will become a classic. It is easy to read and carries a powerful message. Eyvonna proclaims the need and power for a good night's rest in a simple and very easy to remember way. I like the illustrations and the surprise at the end of the book is well worth the price of the book alone.
If you are looking for a good children's book that is sure to please, you can't go wrong with, Sleep My Child.

I love reading books to my kids before I put them to bed. Eyvonna Rains's beautiful book "Sleep My Child" is a joy to share with them. The verse and the rhymes throughout give the whole book a sing-song feel. I love the beautiful illustrations that are wistful and captivating, while still being relaxing and soothing as I try to get my 5 year old and 3 year old to settle down for the night. Eyvonna captures all the wishes and hopes I, as a parent, want to share with my children as they close their eyes to sleep. Thank you, Eyvonna, for sharing this beautiful treasure of a book with me.

Sleep My Child is a beautifully written and illustrated book and makes a wonderful bedtime story. I love the way Eyvonna Rains compares sleep to a quilt or blanket softly descending upon the child. The colors are bold, they rhymes perfectly metered, and the words encourage children to embrace sleep. I would definitely recommend this book for children three to eight.
