These earplugs expand before I can even get them in my ear, so the fit is never snug enough to filter noise; they just fall out. Useless.

I bought these to tune out my rowdy upstairs neighbors on weekends. At first the fit was awful and I couldn't get them to stay in my ears, but I trimmed them down to about half the length and now they're perfect with my small ear canals. I haven't been woken up since I bought them!

These are by far the best foam plugs I've found. I wonder if it is all just personal fit?I do find that after a certain amount of use they don't compress well anymore, but when they are new they go into my small canals and block EVERYTHING. They last months before they stop working well for me.

For the last five years (at least) I have used the Pretty in Pink plugs and cannot sleep without them. I always carry at least two pairs with me at all times because I'm really sensitive to noise. I can easily develop a migraine from the most common sounds in a store (i.e., crying children, advertising over the loud speaker, people arguing on their cell phones, or the HD televisions playing different videos at the same time). They have been life-savers to me.But.....lately, when I wear the Pretty in Pink ear plugs, they don't block the noise like before. Now, I can't fall asleep while my husband snores and, when I wake up, the plugs have usually fallen out. Plus, my ears itch deep inside the canal when I wear them, and even after 20 minutes, my ear canals are sore. So, now, I use the Hearos Ultimate Softness ear plugs. They feel more like moleskin than rubber, and I can push them into my ear canal to really block the noise. Yet, my ears don't feel as though I've pushed corn cobs in them all night. Hearos Ultimate Softness, 20-Pair Foam (Pack of 2) Sorry, Pretty in Pink. It was good while it lasted.

Insert them correctly,

I found the best way to insert these earplugs is not to roll them, just wet your finger and insert in your earto wet the insert area, then just slide the earplugs in, no need to rool them. That way they fit perfectly and have not had them fall out in the two years that I have been using them.

I didn't think it would be necessary to have ear plugs especially for women. Honestly when I first saw them I thought that the packaging and color were just a gimmick to draw women to them over the others. But after being forced to use them on a trip once, I realized I was wrong. They are smaller than most ear plugs which really help me use them. My allergies started affecting my ears and making them swell on the inside and other ear plugs hurt too bad to use, but the smaller size of these gave me back my restful sleep. I thank someone for making them in a larger package to save me some money. Perhaps they will make an even larger pack soon.

Expand too fast, fall out,

As others have noted, these ear plugs hardly roll, and expand right away so that you can't get them in your ear. Even if you have one of the firmer ones and manage to get it in, it falls out during the night. Hearos are much better. These are overpriced and useless.

Great for small ear canals,

These earplugs are perfect for what they are advertised for - delicate ear canals needing them for sleep. No, they are not industrial or meant to wear to block out a band playing right next to you.But for me, they work perfectly since I have a small ear canal that prevents me from using even normal sized ear bud headphones. My ears are usually sore after a night using regularly sized earplugs, not so with these. I do reuse them, and they work better after a day or two use since they can be rolled more easily. Just remember not to reuse them too often or your next Qtip will be pink! Always remember that you have to pull your outer ear up before putting the earplug in to straighten your ear canal and allow for a tighter fit. Soft, comfortable, effective for a snoring partner.

I am a night-shift worker/daysleeper, a mother of constantly bickering twins, owner of an extremely vocal baying Basset Hound, and a wife to a man who snores louder than a Roto-Rooter sucking Jell-o. Since the man refuses to get help for his snoring, I'm kinda sorta fond of the twins, and they all insist I have to keep the dog, I started on a quest to find the perfect earplugs to shut.them.all.off. I had moderate success with the Hearos brands, but I kept running into the same problems over and over again: either the plugs were too big for my ears, causing discomfort, improper fit, and earplugs falling out in the middle of the night (or day), or they didn't block out enough sound. The "made for women" packaging seemed a little gimmicky, but once I tried them, I could really tell the difference between standard/ no gender earplugs and these shorter, narrower ones. They did take a little practice at first--just like all plugs, you have to roll them to elongate and adjust your ear to insert--but once I got the hang of it, they worked like a charm. They block out the majority of my husband's snoring, take the edge off the barking and bickering, but still let in just enough sound so you can hear conversation when you want to. I've even started giving them as bonus gifts for bridal showers and new moms, and they all tell me they didn't know how they coped without them. Nothing helps you deal more calmly with a crying baby (or two) than simply turning down the sound! =)

Good for narrower ear canals,

I bought these from Rite Aid because you got so many more for the price. Im a guy and didnt really care if they were pink because when they are in your ear canal who is going to see them anyways. These are designed for women, it says right on the container they come in... so IF you are a guy they might not fit you and wont work because they are too narrow for your ear canal. This is what happened to me and I can not use mine because they do not work, they dont form a snug seal within my ear canal. If you have a narrower ear canal Im sure theyd work great. The NR rating is 32db, which is pretty good. There is a noticeable difference between an NR of 29 and 32 btw. The highest NR Ive found has been NR34, but I cant find those any more. I use NR 33, and there is a noticeable difference between NR33 and 32, it isnt drastic but it is noticeable. Just FYI! Im sure these ear plugs would work great for persons with narrower ear canals! To use them most effectively, wash your hands and dry them to get rid of dirt and oil. Take a pair of ear plugs and roll them in between your fingers one at a time, then gently "wiggle" them into your ear canal and WAIT for them to expand against the inside of your ear. You can "feel" AND hear everything getting quieter. Repeat on the other ear. I use ear plugs every day when practicing drums. They work great if they make a good "seal" with your ear. These did not work good for me because they never did form a seal, but I took a chance when I purchased them because of the price and quantity. That was my fault not the manufacturers though. I did buy a dif brand btw and they work great with NR33. Hope this helps you decide. If you have a narrower ear canal then these would be great plugs to use, NR32 is a pretty good noise reduction rating! You might want to try a "mens" ear plugs as well and get some that are NR33 if you really wanted to reduce volume as much as possible. They sell those on Amazon too. I think the main problem would be not making enough contact with your ear, not too much. Again, hope this helps. Good luck! |
