I have been using this product for approximately five years. After being diagnosed with TMJ problems, I was given a sleep right night guard by my chiropractor to try. I had been experiencing head aches, and ear problems before I began using the night guard. Since using the night guard I no longer experience head aches or ear problems when waking up in the a.m. I do have to replace the sleep right about every 3 months due to clenching so hard that I wear them out in about 3 months. If you have TMJ related problems I would suggest you try the Sleep Right night guard. I have had the best results with the low profile. It seems to be more comfortable for sleeping.

Having used lots of different dental guards for severe bruxism, I finally found this one which has done a much better job even than guards custom made for me by dentists. The guard even has started correcting my uneven bite (as the dentist has confirmed), done in the night without any work involved :-)
If you grind a lot like me, you may find that they don't last forever though - I need a new one every 5 months or so.
Be sure to ask the seller to send you the latest version of the Dura - the company (SleepRight) has updated the model in the last couple of years, with major improvements to the bite pads (wider and thicker) and a less flimsy wing design. I have once received the old version from a seller here on Amazon and had to give it up since it moved out of position during the night and therefore didn't work to prevent grinding.

recently, i purchased the sleepright adjustable low-profile night guard for some severe nightly grinding. this night guard was the first out of about 4 or 5 that i have purchased that actually fit my mouth properly. it gives 4-5 adjustments that can be used to fit yourself properly. my mouth closes completely when i wear it during the night. also, it is designed so that it does not move around at all while you sleep. i highly recommend this product to anyone that has found other options too bulky. i plan on continuing to use this as long as i continue to grind... which could be forever. i know that i will be absolutely satisfied with it!

I have had Bruxism since before I can remember. I have used custom guards made by Dentists as well as the kind that you heat in water and shape yourself.

The professional guards that I have used are very expensive. The custom boiled guards are difficult for me to shape so that they stay in my mouth, and easy to ruin while shaping. Both of these guards were intrusive and caused me to drool.

I only wish I had found the Sleep Right dental guard sooner.

- Less intrusive
- Does not cause me to drool
- Stays in my mouth very effectively
- Easier to keep clean
- Definitely makes me incapable of grinding my teeth
- Adjustable and essentially immediately ready for use (fits great, little to no effort)

I cannot speak for durability or customer service as I have not had it very long, but it seems strong and honestly I wouldn't care if I had to buy a new one every month because of the above listed advantages (and I enjoy keeping my teeth). It does come with a "3 month durability warranty".

Also a note to dog owners: whatever nightguard you get, keep it away from your dog, they love these.

Update (12/26): In regards to durability the guard has held up just fine since this review so I have no complaints there.

I've tried all the sizes available for these SleepRight night guards and it really came down to the bite pads being too thick. Don't get me wrong, the design and materials used seem of high quality, but even after a month - I was not used to this product in all the different sizes. I would wake up with cuts in my mouth (the bite pads have a harder plastic pivot) and a sore jaw from keeping it open at a certain angle (unanimous with all sizes). I think the design can use a little more refinement and it may be very good one day. I switched over to the Dentek "copies" and they actually work better for me. They come in packs of 2 for the price of 1 of these as well (just make sure you get the ones that have the blue bite pads). You can give it a try and may have success with this one.. but not for me.

Update 1
I had to use my old pair as backup because my current night guard needed replacing. I've found these to actually be more comfortable if you adjust the bite pads to the narrowest setting holes (most forward). Perhaps this is partly due to how your jaw pivots towards the back. Wedging these bite pads into your molars forces your mouth to be opened more. Having them closer to the front allowed my mouth to be more closed during the night. I'd easily give it closer to 4.5 if the bite pads were more comfortable. I've had to actually revert back to the SleepRights because the Dentek's were lacking in durability and the adjustment notches on them don't quite work (only 1 out of 4 pairs worked) Just thought I'd share this update.

Update 2
I've had ok luck with these for a while, but recently either they changed the bite pads or I'm grinding a lot more. I'm finding the bite pads breaking apart much sooner.
