Keeps Children Safe and Comfortable All Night
#1 Choice of Hospital Nurseries - The Safer Way to SleepHome Safety Council - Innovation Award for Consumer Safety

Since 2005, The American Academy of Pediatrics has recommended the use of wearable blankets for safe sleep. Unlike regular blankets, the HALO SleepSack wearable blanket is worn over your child's sleepwear. Its design offers plenty of room for your child to move their legs freely, so the SleepSack won't be kicked off. This means your child stays safe, warm, and comfortable all night.

The inverted bottom zipper lets you change diapers easily, so there's no need to undress your baby. For comfort, its sleeveless design reduces the risk of overheating, while the "Back is Best" embroidery reminds all caregivers to place babies on their backs to sleep.

Recommended by Hospitals and Safety Organizations

The HALO SleepSack wearable blanket is used by hundreds of hospital nurseries nationwide to teach parents safe sleep practices. The sack design allows room for your baby's legs to move freely to ensure proper hip development, and has been approved as "Hip Healthy" by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute. A portion of every sale is donated to First Candle/SIDS Alliance and the Canadian Foundation for the Study of Infant Deaths.

I've used this brand since my child was 6 months old or younger. We always have two, one to wear and one for the wash. They are great, and while they run big, just keep that in mind When ordering. The 12 month size fit our little one until he was about 18 months old. The microfleece is great in case they wet them selves in the night.

This has worked well. Keeps my son warm without worrying about loose blankets in the crib. He seems to now know that when I get it out to put it on it's bedtime. I like the bottom zipper so you can change the diaper without getting him out.

The reason for the lower rating is that I have had some trouble with the zipper coming apart at the top.

This is a nice sleep sack, heavy fleece, similar to the swaddle sack material. I wish these had double zippers so you could open from the bottom during the middle of the night. Other then that, does the trick!

Our newborn (a month old) would get really upset if he wasn't tightly swaddled at night. Just allowing him to sleep in thick PJs without some kind of blanket would not work. I don't really know why the SleepSack is any different than just PJs, but it seems he really likes to be in it and I feel that it's a lot safer than just a swaddling blanket, especially now that he is older and can start to break open the swaddle. It provides us with the comfort of a safe sleep, and it seems to keep him calm at night. All in all a great purchase. My only minor issue is that the 0-3 mo small size we have seems a bit big for him at 7lbs. Maybe the swaddle SleepSack would be better.

I've been putting my now-19 month-old toddler to sleep at night in Halo Sleepsacks since she was a newborn ... we started out with the Sleepsack Swaddle, then switched to the regular Sleepsacks. In fact, they've become a part of our bedtime routine ... my little-one knows that when the Sleepsack goes on, it's time for bed. We've never had a problem with any of the Sleepsacks, until now. About two-and-a-half months ago, I purchased the Halo Micro-fleece Sleepback in lime green (with the applique) for my daughter to wear during the cool winter nights. For the first 6 weeks, this Sleepsack was fine, and then the zipper started getting tricky. It would randomly stick and be very difficult to zip down (Sleepsack zippers reverse-zip from top to bottom). I closely examined the zipper and could see no reason why it kept getting stuck. One morning, after I'd had a particularly difficult time getting the zipper to close at bedtime, the zipper split open overnight in the chest area all the way down to the waist. Thank goodness my daughter was wearing long-sleeved footed pajamas under the Sleepsack because it had been an especially chilly night and she had a cold to boot. The last thing she needed was to catch a chill due to a defective Sleepsack. The final straw came a couple of nights ago when I just couldn't get the zipper to close, no matter how hard I tried. After about 3 minutes of struggling, my toddler became very upset that her bedtime routine was being interrupted. Thank goodness I had a spare Sleepsack readily available, otherwise her crying spell would've turned into a full-on meltdown ... definitely NOT something you want happening when you're trying to settle an active toddler down for bed!

We're not particularly hard on our Sleepsacks, either.

Hi there, HALO here. I'm sorry to hear of your experience with our product. We use high quality zippers that are thoroughly tested for durability. However, in some cases a zipper may fail. In which case, we'd like to review the product you purchased and offer you a replacement. If you'd like to proceed with this, please contact us at sleepsack@haloinnovations.com.

I first saw the Halo SleepSacks reviewed in a blog about quadruplets when I was pregnant with my first child. The mother swore by them and encouraged people to use them without any incentive from Halo. After doing some research, we registered for a few and thought they were "so cute" when they arrived.

The hospital where our daughter was born gives every new set of parents a Halo SleepSack as a gift and our daughter started using it when she was minutes old. We really loved how warm it kept her and how easy it was for us to change her diaper while she was wearing it. She also started to roll in her sleep at just a few weeks old and the SleepSack brought us peace in the midst of our hyper-awareness in being new parents. She stopped using them around 1 year of age, but we held on to them and have started using them with the newest members of our family.

We adopted 2 babies from Africa this past Spring and sleep was a huge issue in the beginning. We finally discovered that the babies needed to be swaddled-even though they were well beyond the typical age for US (where we live) children to be swaddled. We obliged for a bit, but when we decided we needed to ween them from that the SleepSacks were essential to our process. I honestly thing they would still be swaddled had we not been able to provide the sense of security and warmth the SleepSack brings them. And as a bonus, as the weather gets colder and our children acclimate to that for the first time they have been requesting the SleepSacks. :) They will often wear them to play in the house. They can crawl and walk fine in the Medium size and we are planning on purchasing a few large size to get us through the winter.
