I did a lot of searching on the net to find the best deal on a memory foam mattress topper, and this one had the best density and thickness for the price, as well as coming through amazon instead of a shady vendor. When the mattress arrived it had a really terrible chemical smell which went away after a few days. It is very comfortable, and I rarely wake up with back pain anymore (used to have mild pain on most mornings and worse pain on some mornings). I have had this mattress topper for a couple of months now and highly recommend it.

It's very difficult to purchase a memory foam mattress topper online. You can't touch it or lay on it to get a sense of whether your body will like it or not. I am homebound due to health problems and unable to go out shopping so I have spent a small fortune on mattress toppers. Goodwill has been the recipient of all of them until I purchased this memory foam topper 7 months ago.

I can't tell you how wonderful it felt to finally have some relief when in bed - and with my health I spend at least 15-20 hours a day in bed - it actually allowed me to not have to take as much prescription medication to relive my pain.

The free pillow is what it is - free - but the topper was heavenly! I say was because as another reviewer stated, a few weeks ago the "memory" disappeared. It's just gone - Poof! I went through the difficult and painful process of flipping the topper (yes, for me it's quite an ordeal) only to find that no amount of flipping was going to help. I've added a featherbed underneath to try to add some support without too much support, but it didn't work.

So, I'm back where I began and not sure what to do. The price was amazingly low for this product, but if I have to buy 2 of them a year, it will get quite pricey. I'm on a fixed income and have to spend my money very carefully - but sleeping well is also very important.

I have started the search again for the perfect memory foam topper, but I'm not sure if it's worth taking the risk of ordering from another company. Let's face it, once the topper is opened and no longer packed for shipping, it's nearly impossible to ship it back for a return so you're stuck with it, like it or not. At least with this company/brand, you know what you're getting.

Although I haven't been able to decide what route to go, I want to say that if a good night's sleep is something you can't afford to be without, if you're someone who has to get up and go to work every day, this is the topper for you. It is truly a dreamy, cuddly feeling everytime you lay on it. It is not overly hot during the summer months either. Of course I'm in a air conditioned home, but due to my health I am always hot - wearing nothing but short sleeves year round - and many of the toppers I've tried were miserably hot, but this one doesn't seem to add any additional heat to your sleeping environment, just comfort.

And lastly, although the free pillow isn't worth using for sleeping at night, I use it in the car on the way to my doctors appointments or on my way to the hospital for tests and it works great! Of course, the "memory" is gone from it also, but it was great while it lasted.

I will continue my search and whatever I decide, I will update my review to let everyone know if I've found something better. Oh, how I long for the days of childhood when I could fall asleep on my concrete front porch while waiting for my dad to arrive home from work. Those were the days - when aches and pains consisted of skinned knees and bruises from my older brothers picking on me. If only there were some way for us to truly appreciate how pain-free life is for the average healthy child.

I must begin by saying I have no other memory foam mattress/topper to compare this to.

That said, I think this topper is very good - just the right thickness and softness. I was forced to purchase this because my old mattress was leaving my back and ribs kinda sore upon waking up. Suffering from insomnia, a little discomfort wakes me up & I cannot remain in one position for too long else the pain builds up.

This topper simply allows me to sleep on my back or sides the entire night without moving an inch, pain-free. Its a great feeling to be able to fall asleep on my left side and wake up in that same position without having my ribs and back in some pain.

The other night it felt as if the mattress was losing its effects. I didn't notice the softness anymore. So what I did was remove the topper and lay on the mattress. OMG, it was flat, too firm. I put the topper back on, laid down and realized how great it was again.

You get used to the mattress after a while, but that doesn't mean it's losing effectiveness.

boy is this good. Never had one of these things before, so nothing to compare it against. I don't know if going with the heavier density is what does the trick: not too soft, yet by no means hard. Just a bit softer than firm, just right. Didn't notice any smell from mine, but I do have a cold a at present. Clear instruction sheet in the box and no trouble whatsoever dealing with this company.

This is the first review I've done on Amazon, but want everyone to know how wonderful this product is!!! I was waking up nearly every morning with such horrible back pain that I had to basically throw myself over if I needed to turn over. I was also stiff and could tell I'd been sleeping for a while. I've only slept on this topper for one night so far, but when I woke up this morning I felt as light as a feather - with no stiffness or soreness!!! It is amazing! I had used a 1" memory foam topper before, that I bought at a major discount center, but was unimpressed. I was seriously considering cancelling my order. I am so glad I didn't! If you are having back pain or stiffness, you owe it to yourself to at least try this. It has worked wonders for me!

I've been looking ALLLLLL over for ANYTHING that would just make me sleep better! I'd always go into Select Comfort stores wanting a Sleep Number bed badly, but those things are just way overpriced. Same with those highly priced Tempur Pedic beds! Then I stumbled onto this baby here on Amazon and saw all these great reviews.. and with such a LOW LOW PRICE! I mean, what could hurt? If I don't like it, I can always return it right?

So it came in, very easy to unpack with very detailed and clear instructions. (Underlined, bolded, etc.) I opened it up and just smiled. It actually took less than 24-72 hours for it to go back into its real size. I actually slept on it that very night and it was AMAAAAAAAZING. I didn't really notice the smell. It wasn't that bad 'chemical smell' that I imagined it to be like everyone said. In fact, it smelled new to me. But anyways, I've never - ever - ever slept so good and woke up just as great. This thing is so worth it! I don't know about the pillow though, it was just okay. But I do recommend this to everyone who is just looking for a better nights sleep, or are having current back problems and etc. This is the one thing you need! Being on it is like floating on a cloud, and you can't help but relax! So buy this! It's worth the price, and maybe more.

This product has actually increased my quality of sleep. It is ultra comfortable and very good with regards to health. It was also cheaper than most other similar products. The pillow wasn't useful though. But then it was free.. So..

My husband has terrible back pain and often wakes with it often throughout the night.I got this mattress pad for him for Christmas.. and for the first time since we've been married (3.5 years!) he's able to consistently sleep through the night and isn't waking up all stiff and sore!!
I highly recommend this product!

Prior to purchasing this mattress topper, I spent many mornings nursing a sore back from sleeping on my extra firm mattress. This topper is very, very comfortable, and I no longer wake up with any soreness or stiffness. I love it and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable night's sleep.

I have bought several manufacturers foam mattress pads but this pad was by far of the best quality. Upon opening, the pad relaxed to its full size quickly and the density was great. The free pillow was the only disappointment. Otherwise, a great value!
