Sleeper is wild! Leslie Glass has done it again, creating a thriller with twists that keep you turning page after page.

I thought that I'd never get over missing April Woo, but the new female protagonist, Michael Tamlin, is a winner! She's just as tough and funny as April. And Portland is a hotbed of crime and drama... Who knew?

This is a can't-put-it-down, wonderful book...an insightful look into the shady world of terrorist financing, a sardonic look into love and marriage, and a suspenseful ride into drugs, bombs, and murder. I loved it!

Leslie Glass is a wonderful writer in the police genre and if you have never read her April Woo series you should do so ASAP! Although April herself is not in this book it is of the same high quality and I highly recommend it.

Let me begin by saying that I enjoyed Leslie Glass' April Woo series. That said, I now have to confess that I'm not such a big fan of the author's new character, Michael Tamlin, or her new novel, "Sleeper". The characters, the plot and the denouement of "Sleeper" all have a forced and implausible feel. "Sleeper" reads more like a romance novel pretending to be a thriller than a thriller with a dash of romance on the side. Overall, I was disappointed.

On a side note, the Kindle version was replete with typos and formatting errors, which was disconcerting and made for an unpleasant reading experience. As a loyal Amazon.com customer, I can only hope that more effort will be put into making acceptable Kindle conversions.

I enjoyed this book very much and I hope that Leslie Glass will develop this character in a series and I love her name! I did not see much of a romance budding between Pete and Michael so the end didn't surprise me at all. Two things did surprise me. I thought Max was surely part of the plot behind the investigation of the bank. And I was really surprised that the Portland police were so casual when Michael went to them with her evidence and they didn't act upon it. I'm only giving this book 4 stars because I think the price is absurd for a paperback - $17.95 aren't we in a recession??? Apparently the publishing business isn't aware of that. And the size of the book is ridiculous. I do not read hardbacks because I do most of my reading in bed and they are difficult to hold. This book is huge and I won't buy another one of this size. What on earth were they thinking? And why $17.95? - Even Amazon's price is high. What is it with these publishers? I love Leslie Glass' work but there are other things to read that I like just as well that aren't huge and overpriced and I'll buy those instead. I'll bet I'm not the only one who feels this way.
