The reason you are looking at this is because you are one of those people who always flip your pillow to the "cool side." You just prefer not to lie on a pillow your head has already heated up. (There is even a facebook group for us!) This pillow is not magic and does not have any type of a cooling element. It will, however, dissipate heat more quickly so you do not end up with a real hot spot. It does not keep the "cool" side feeling forever. It does do a nice job of not getting very hot though.

As far as firmness goes, I think this is perfect - probably a medium firmness. I am used to foam pillows and don't like the down pillow feeling.

It comes with its own zippered pillow cover, so that is nice. It fits into a standard pillow case, which is also nice.

Overall, I give it four stars because it does a decent job of not getting as hot as a normal pillow - but calling it "cool" is a tiny bit misleading.

EDIT: After a month or so, the pillow has gone from perfectly firm and thick to a bit of a panckake. I try to fluf it back up to no avail. Rating updated from four stars to two.

I have purchased two Chillow brand pillow inserts and one Avon brand cooling pillow and I have never been satisfied with either product. The Chillow brand pillows are either too cold or too warm after laying on them for awhile, and they also start leaking after about five months of use and have to be replaced. The Avon cooling pillow doesn't work at all.

But the Isocool pillow really keeps it's cool. It's not "cold" like the chillow starts out as, but it starts cool and ends cool. It doesn't warm up while you are laying on it. It's also amazingly comfortable thanks to the memory foam.

I will never use an ordinary pillow again! I recommend this pillow to anyone who has hot flashes and sweat on their pillow at night.

I love these pillows. I am a down pillow person, but I guess I was ready for a change. I bought these for my husband, but I keep stealing them, I like that they really do stay cool.

I've bought a few Iso Cool *Traditional* Polyester Sleeping Pillow with Outlast Cover over the last few years and I loved them - they stayed cool with no problems...If I was actually awake long enough for the coolness to wear down I'd flip the pillow and it was ultra cool again for a bit. So as I was browsing for a replacement I went ahead and looked at this one...the Iso Cool *Side Sleeper* Polyester Sleeping Pillow with Outlast Cover. I figured why not...I sleep on my side the majority of the time anyway!
Needless to say I was VERY disappointed. It doesn't keep the coolness long enough for me to get relaxed let alone fall asleep. The pillow is also too thick - it *might* be okay if you do not stick your arm under your pillow when you are on your side, but otherwise it's just too much. My husband even converted back to his old pillow! I won't be buying the *side sleeper* again.

Although this pillow is cool to the touch (on ONE side), it does not stay cool. I wake up several times a night to turn the pillow to the cool side. It also needs more filling. It needs to be just a tad bit thicker. After a short while it becomes thinner. And the cool side is only on one side. You will notice that the cool side of the pillow has some type of fabric layer to help with the coolness but it's only on one side of the pillow. NOT worth the $20.00 I paid for each pillow. They need to redesign this pillow. make it so that the cool side is on BOTH sides and make it a little thicker.

This is by far the best pillow! It really does keep your head and neck cool during sleep! Combine this with the Outlast Mattress Cover, and the entire body sleeps in "Cool" comfort!

After purchasing the ISO Cool Side Sleeper pillow, I found it to be an interesting concept in marketing. At first the pillow appeared to be cool to the touch, it lasted all of 10 minutes, but never really lived up to the hype. O.K. so I was a fool to fall for the "cooling" gig, and at least I had a side sleeper pillow, right?...wrong! This pillow was not very supportive either. I don't recommend this pillow for cooling or a quality side sleeper support. I really wanted to like this product and was reluctant to give a review, but even six months after purchase, I would not recommend. Pillows are better purchased in person anyway. For the price it's over priced and overrated for what it does.

I am a side sleeper and frequently turn my pillow over. This pillow does feel cool when you first put your head on it but alas, that doesn't last. I found myself still turning it over. It also isn't firm enough for me though it is sold as for side sleepers. I guess I need to keep looking.

The pillow has only one side with the cooling material. It does provide cooling but still gets hot within 15 minutes. Even the Chillow doesn't work for long. Maybe it's just my metabolism. I think my only hope for a cool pillow all night is to design my own water cooled pillow similar to NASCAR driving suits.

Very well made and comfortable pillow, and while it is cooler than a standard pillow for a minute or so, it does not remain cool as advertised. I have also tried the "Chillow" product, and while it starts out very cool and stays cool, the weight of the water filled device causes it to shift and bunch up in the pillow case through the night.
