5.0 out of 5 stars A Dream Come True
Walt Disney?s Sleeping Beauty Read-Aloud storybook is one of the best I?ve seen. We tried a shorter version that only contained the disastrous surprise birthday party for Briar Rose given by the three fairies. It?s cute, but too short. We?ve also read the longer, more detailed book that was too exhaustive for my preschooler and toddler. But this version is perfect...

2.0 out of 5 stars Not the original classic
I wanted to buy my three year old some classic fairy tale books I grew up with. But almost all the books I bought do not tell the same classic stories. I understand abridged versions, but these are changed versions. So the sleeping beauty does not sleep for a hundred years and is not woken up by a prince who happens to wander into the frozen castle. Instead, Aurora is...

5.0 out of 5 stars A Dream Come True, July 20, 2004
This review is from: Sleeping Beauty (Disney Princess) (Read-Aloud Storybook) (Hardcover)
But this version is perfect! It provides just enough detail for both parents and children to enjoy. Illustrations are taken directly from the Disney classic movie. I highly recommend it for little princesses everywhere.

This is a classic little golden book like the many others that we all had as children. Has the little golden spine and beautiful illustrations along with the classic sleeping beauty story. Very reasonably priced too!

2.0 out of 5 stars Not the original classic, January 6, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Instead, Aurora is betrothed to prince Phillip at birth who fights an "epic battle", lasting three of the ten pages, to kill the evil fairy. Why, oh why do they mess with the classics. Does someone, anyone, know where I can find the originals I grew up with. Today's kids are exposed to enough violence as it is. Please make at least the fairy tales violence free. Hate this sleeping beauty. Reading it, felt someone robbed my childhood. If you are going to change a classic, make it better. If you cannot make it better, please do not spoil it.

Buy this one if you have never read or heard the original story and if you want to entertain the child with the illustrations. The story is @#$%^&*......grrrrrrrrr.

My daughter loves Sleeping Beauty but I didn't want to buy the super long Disney story books. This one is perfect! It's just the right length for my 3 year old to sit and listen to.

Golden Books are the best. Great illustrations and wonderful stories. My[...] old daughter loves to have me read them to her at bedtime.
I had the same books as a child in the 70's.

A Kid's Review
This review is from: Sleeping Beauty (Disney Princess) (Read-Aloud Storybook) (Hardcover)
This is one of my favorite fairy tales because the author maked it like a real store, and I like animal. This is discrifted. I liked the goods fairies because they like to do goods things like one of the fairy tryed to take away the curse but her magic were not strong enough. SO she change the curse. I didn't wanted to be Maleficent because she get angry and gave a cruse to the baby. Thanks for reading my review.
