endthisday.... another band who i personally think deserved more credit and status than they got (kudos to the long-time fans). they split up after only 2 months from releasing this full length, which to me is a great shame. however, this cd is epic in more ways than one. okay, so some people are saying this cd is 'nothing new' and it's 'bland death metal'. guys... open up... LISTEN to the song structures, timing, the awesome drumming and those catchy melodic/death riffs!!! what's there not to like??? to me, this band blew me away and they DID produce something completely different, but on the same level. i particularly admire the guitarwork - it seems so well-produced and the band emit a great overall sound. the vocals remind me of jonathan hunt from dead to fall, which is never a band thing. endthisday are a huge influence to me - just because these guys split up, doesnt mean you shouldn't give this a listen. do yourself a favour and buy this impressive and inspiring album before it becomes a rarity.
best songs: killing in the month of july an eulogy on the lips of the dead behind a veil of tears silently choking on her regret

One of the best metalcore records of the year,

Lifeforce Records shocks me with every new release! The latest record of All That Remains were a good one and now Endthisday with their first album and they've blown me away. Mosh mayhem joined by metal destruction formed to brutal perfection! Most songs are around the 5 minute mark and mostly every sub-genre in metallic hardcore is audible. Fast metal attacks meet mosh riffs, heavy breakdowns, catchy melodies and even quiet parts. These five guys from Wisconsin set new standards in metal/hardcore and their musical abilities are amazing. In one moment they spoil your ears with wonderful and fast black metallic guitar riffs and within the next second they start to mosh you down with brutal and destroying riffs. The singer changes between aggressive screaming and grunting so that the vocals seem balanced and diversified! Of the altogether 9 songs are 2 instrumental songs. This record convinces me with every minute of its playtime. It's never boring, unbalanced or hectic. With this album Endthisday proved that they play in the premier league. As a matter of course with a interesting layout and intelligent and sometimes dark lyrics. Direct hit!

I'm rating this as a hardcore/metalcore album and not as an overall music release of which it wouln't place ridiculously high but do not be mistaken because this is one of the most original yet overlooked bands of the genre you'll ever hear. One of the very first American hardcore bands to take the Swedish melodic death metal sound and mix it with hardcore. The result? An extremely brutal hardcore album with original melodic thrashy riffs, gnargly death growls, and a brutal foundation of booming bass and heavy drums. Not the most technical music but if you're looking for that go listen to Botch, Into The Moat, or Beneath The Massacre. If you want that old school metalcore sound before it got played out then you've found the band. I suggest picking this up now because the band has been broken up for more than four years and I'm not sure how long Life Force will keep pressing this.
