it runs only 29 mins. it does have special features that seemed to be longer. alot of kissing ed asners ass by everyone. which was probably due. Maynard displays his superior interviewee and socialization abilities. the only music i remember hearing in it is a song off 13th step. I'd buy it again but I'd like to pay about 10 bucks tops for it including shipping. it is only 29 mins.

A huge fan of both Brad Wilk and Maynard James Keenan, I had to buy this. Great short movie. A question of memory- where do Our words go after We say them? The director of photography is wonderful.

Do you love Maynard James Keenan and Brad Wilk? Do you want to see them in a great movie? Well, maybe someday, but not today. This short, 29 minute film is mediocre on the surface; I fell asleep during it several times, which is a feat for only a 29 minute movie.

In other words, DON'T BUY THIS DVD FOR THE FILM!!

The value of this DVD is in the bloopers and interviews - more than an hour's worth of extras. The interviews are priceless, especially for fellow Maynard lovers - I have never seen him as natural and easy-going as he is in the interviews. He is hilarious in the movie, but is even funnier in the interviews and bloopers! This is a very intelligent, quick witted guy that you don't always get to see in the Tool or A Perfect Circle concerts; he is up close and personal - well worth the price of the DVD. I have over 40 live concerts on DVD from Tool and A Perfect Circle, and I've never seen him anything like he is in the film or the interviews.

One final note, don't expect to get this DVD right away. I had to wait several weeks for mine to come, and I consider myself lucky for that. I had tried to purchase it from the main SDL website, and waited for two months before I had to file a dispute with PayPal (and still didn't get all my money back). If you want it right away, you might want to check on ebay, but only one person sells them on there, so they are pretty rare. I definitely wouldn't recommend buying from anywhere else other than Amazon or ebay - you'll never get anything.

Bottom Line: If you love Maynard, then this is probably the most natural you'll ever see him (you do know he ALWAYS shaves his head, right? He wears a wig for most concerts). Since Maynard is still hiding himself at the 2006 concerts, this is probably the last chance you'll ever get to see him well (unless you get some older concerts on DVD or something). Not a great film, but the true value is in the extras; if you don't mind a wait of possibly months, then this is well worth the price for Maynard lovers.

brad wilk is no actor. taking that into account, he did a decent job. maynard was the reason for me buying this dvd (as others have also said), and it was a little disappointing he was in it for such a short period of time. lynch being one of the greatest/most original film directors in my opinion, it would certainly be a challenge to create a lynch-ish short film. this film did an alright job of it, obviously no comparison to the master but all in all it was an enjoyable watch. i would recommend this to a fan of brad wilk, maynard james keenan, or david lynch, but beyond that i can't really see too many people enjoying this. by the way, perfect circle is on the soundtrack which is a definite bonus to the overall package.

I only give this 4 stars because James was in it i wish it would have been longer it was like a short story

To be honest I bought this movie because I am a fan of the band TOOL and their lead singer (Maynard James Keenan) has a small part in the movie. I am also a fan of Rage Against the Machine the band in which the lead actor (Brad Wilkes) is the drummer. Ed Asner did a very good job as well as Keenan, but I found Wilkes acting to be a little sub par. It was an interesting movie to see, but if you just want to see a short film I would recommend trying to find someone that has it.

I thought the story line was intriguing and the acting was top-notch. Brad Wilk, aside from being beautiful, actually has some real acting ability. The same with Keenan - especially when you consider what they do for their day jobs. The only kitchy thing about the movie, which was probably intentional, is it is supposed to take place in Texas, but there are no Joshua Trees in Texas! Whatever. I liked it. I just wish it was longer than 29 minutes.

The story is nothing new: Some guy goes to investigate an old death/murder in a strange town and the local helping him turns out to be the killer who then kills the guy as he solves the mystery. Brad Wilk does a good job, but Maynard James Keenan, singer for Tool and A Perfect Circle, is simply amazing. His talents seemingly know no bounds. You probably wouldn't even recognize him if you didn't know it was him. Not because of makeup or anything, but because of the earnestness with which he plays his character and because he plays a character that is so antithetical to the life and body of work of the artist playing him. Think about it: Maynard the deputy sheriff.

The best part for fans of Maynard may be the outtakes and behind the scenes footage that provide a glimpse into the private personality behind the eccentric stage persona we've come to know. The behind the scenes footage introduces us to a down-to-earth Maynard with a great sense of humor and of himself.

I thought this was a very cool movie. Wilk shocked me with his preformance, I think he did a great job in this film. Maynard was also in it which was the main reason why I bought this movie.
