Better than Sleeping With Ghosts on its own, December 6, 2003
This review is from: Sleeping With Ghosts (Audio CD)
Being well acquainted with Sleeping With Ghosts, I decided it was high time I took a look at the Special Edition.
It is definately worth it. Not only do you get the brilliant CD that is Sleeping With Ghosts, but you also get a CD containing some excellent covers, including Running Up That Hill (Kate Bush), Where is My Mind (The Pixies), I Feel You (Depeche Mode) and arguably the best cover Placebo has done on the entire CD, Bigmouth Strikes Again (The Smiths). There's something about Bigmouth Strikes Again that really suits Placebo, and Brian Molko's voice really fits in quite nicely into the vocal line.
Admittedly, the enjoyment of the covers CD comes with knowing some of the tracks, however I don't think it's necessary.
All in all, definately worth buying instead of Sleeping with Ghosts, because you can get so much more Placebo, and hear some interesting interpretations.

Get this version for CD 2!, November 14, 2003
This review is from: Sleeping With Ghosts (Audio CD)
Yeah, sleeping with ghosts is a great Placebo album, but this special edition also includs a second cd with a selection of covers. I think that this cd is even better than the actual album! If you have not bought it yet, this is a great chance. If you have, give a chance to this fantastic sepecial edition anyway!

Another Great Placebo Edition, February 10, 2004
This review is from: Sleeping With Ghosts (Audio CD)
I recently purchased the special edition of Sleeping with Ghosts and I think that the bonus cover tracks are the best. This cd is already amazing in its entirity, but the fact that it has the bonus cover tracks makes it that much more necessary for any Placebo fan. My two favorite tracks are "Running up that Hill" and "Ballad of Melody Nelson." The live Pixie's cover of "Where is my Mind" and Depeche Mode's "I Feel You" also are up there. Honestly, I can't say that I don't like any of the songs. Placebo can do no wrong!
