5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing journey!
Cool Hand Luke is an example of Christian Rock that is not "cheesy." I search far and wide for artists who are glorifying God with their music instead of the twisted world we live in. I once listened to everything from TOOl to nine inch nails to the CURE. These are all great artists but i realized what I was listening to was affecting me spiritually. There are other ways...

3.0 out of 5 stars Decent album with a couple amazing songs
Ok...I'm a huge fan of "Fires of Life" by Cool Hand Luke, so it's hard for me to put just 3 stars, but here goes...In general, this band's lyrics are blatantly religious (not that there's anything wrong with that). They draw their lyrical inspiration from faith and the Bible (even tying certain lyrics to specific verses).

There are other ways to please your musical appetite without being influenced by the world. Cool Hand Luke is an example of what music was created by God for. "The Sleeping House" is an instant classic woven together with pleasing progressive melodies and introspective rythmn and vocals coupled with lyrics that can only deepen your relationship with God Almighty, this album is a MUST for all people and especially newer Christians who have been searching for original alternative music.

Great Album. You wont find any of these songs on Christian radio and thats not a bad thing. Completely artistic, no corporate sound, this is an album for those who appreciate those who write from their souls and not for airplay. This is an introspective album. God gives the talent, not every Christian album has to be a worship album, we has humans wrestle against forces unseen, this is an album that reaches deep into that.

The instrumentals (1st & last tracks) are good...powerful and beautiful at the same time.
Cast Your Bread: Amazing song, both lyrically and musically
Failing in love: Pretty good, but the verses seem a bit of a stretch musically compared to their other stuff.
Buy the Truth: Again a decent song...one lyric that's odd..."thrown out my life like the paper"
The Mirror: Another phenomenal song...
Eye of the Storm: Honestly, my least favorite song. Good message & music, but supposedly this doesn't come from any of the guys' personal experience, and it shows. It's easy to say "God is good...even when little girls die" when you haven't experienced it.
The City Prevails: Pretty good rocker for them...good song
Spirit Sing: Again...a good, but not amazing song
Wondertour: Beautiful, sad, true...the video is a bit odd, but whatever. the song is great
The House: ok song that could be used as a praise song in most churches. Not to be harsh, but that's not a compliment for these guys. They might have been going after that, but there's a ton of bands out there making catchy praise music and normally Cool Hand Luke does music that's different, yet beautiful and praises God. This is a Mercy Me song (just my opinion!)
Incomprehensible Sleep: The singing in this song can put off the listener...odd tune, but good.
