Personally, I thought the production was a standout on this release. No instruments get buried, and the vocals come across well. Just a shouted out stream of pissed off energy. Some catchy guitar work and intricate drums in places, but this CD won't be remembered for that. Gotta take in the whole composition, man. Intelligent songwriting, reminiscent of Dead & Gone. They can grind it out too-trust me. Pace is breakneck pretty much throughout, and that's what these guys excel at. Enjoyed this release better than Backstabbers, Inc., actually. Production didn't impress me as much on K.M. as it did with this. I really get pumped listening to this-just wanna crack s**t up, ya know? Excellent CD. Not only do they have something to say, they express it in a very effective way. Can't really compare 'em to anyone, and that should impress. Why would you want to anyway?

Barring three seconds of feedback, "Sleepwell Deconstructor" wastes no time in assaulting your eardrums with a wall of detuned guitars, distorted vocals and punishing blastbeats. The album barely gives you time to breath through the crushing and at times intricate riffs, politically and personally charged lyrics and lightning-fast drums on songs like "Garlic Breakfast", "Collapse And Marathon" and "[...] As Punk". The one brief respite is the Isis-like "Destructioneer Extraordinaire", which slows the pace but not the intensity. The production fits the songs like a glove...a spiked glove that is. This album is tight, loud, angry and highly recommended.

Kurt Ballou has gone from once being one of my favorite producers, to making me not want to hear another Kurt Ballou recording. Albums like The Hope Conspiracy's Endnote sounded so raging and toneful. All later things like Swarm of the Lotus, later Converge, Hope Con's latest, and now Trap Them sound like indie-rockified garage quality ProTools records. Seriously, every band with a ProTools computer in their practice space is making demos that sound as quality as this. The ancient amp usage, and felty kick-drum does no justice whatsoever. Trap them display a ton of energy, but other than that, nothing really sets them apart from every other sludgy indie-esque band with songs too short to have any intricacy or point of interest. After 3 listens, it was apparent these guys would not be my new favorite band, and it made me wish I had borrowed the disc from a friend instead of purchased the album. It reminds me of the new Pulling Teeth, except with slightly better production, and a little like Cursed. Okay bands if you're in a mood for fast background music.
