Our 4 year old loves the "Parakeet" album in the car and our 18 month old goes down quietly after his books with this CD. I'm sure they'll both learn the "real" lyrics someday, but for now the melody seems to do just fine...

This CD was a pleasant surprise. I didn't quite know what to expect, but

find I have it on a lot when I want pleasant, quiet background noise.

Knowing the words to the tunes brings a smile when the words don't quite

match the lilting lullaby sounds, so good for a smile as well.

I've purchsed these CDs for both grandchildren. They fall asleep to the gentle music. But I also use the CD myself as background music when I just want to listen to instrumentals. Whether you are a Jimmy Buffett fan or not, this is a great CD.

I bought the Jimmy Buffett Sleepytime Tunes to add to my lullaby playlist that I've been building for my newborn son. It is calm soothing music and what a great way to introduce my son to Jimmy!

I've got to admit up front that I'm a HUGE Buffett fan, however, I assure you that this review is not biased because of that in any way. Just ask my wife - she plays the CD more than I do, but she "doesn't understand what the big deal with Jimmy Buffett" is. *grin*

That being said, our new baby, Madeline (now 6 weeks) has problems with swallowing a lot of air during bottle feedings, as many babies do. When her stomach gets upset, she has some of her worst and loudest crying fits and there is nothing that will calm her down... except for... you guessed it, this CD.

Within the first 15 seconds of the first track (Margaritaville), she's quiet as can be, and will sometimes even go right to sleep (along with some Mylicon and TLC) before the CD is halfway done. Before we started playing it for her, we would stay up for hours trying everything we could, including classical tunes and other lullabies.

So I would say that if you've got a new baby that happens to cry (is alive) and he/she's got feathers in her future, this CD may save your sanity AND get your baby on the track to becoming a little Parakeet.

I love this album, our son loves this album... there are only so many variations of old classics that one can listen to without going nuts. I enjoy listening to my favorite songs for a change while rocking my son to sleep. You could even play this in your car just to mellow out.

There are no lyrics, so I fail to see how playing this for your child in any way affects them negatively.

Love the lullaby renditions - it's great when you are able to sing your favorite songs in a lullaby version to your kiddo.

We got this for our baby before he was born and have played it for him ever since. It is really cute and fun as well as peaceful for babies. He seems comforted by it. We love it!

Love, love, love this CD!!! Great in the car or the nursery. Baby loves it and seems more relaxed when the music's playing. Sleepytime tunes are the best.

I got this to listen to in the car with my infant and we both love it!!! I found myself continuing to listen to it even after he fell asleep. And turning this on when he is fussy usually helps him settle down.

Lovely Jimmy Buffett sounds for your future parrot head!! If you are a fan, this is a must! Don't hesitate!
