5.0 out of 5 stars Addicted to Stacey Evan's, "A Slender Thread", September 11, 2007
This review is from: Slender Thread (Audio CD)
Finally...an artist that absolutely rises above the rest. Stacey is THE definition of what is known in the music industy as a "TRIPLE THREAT." First, there are Evan's pipes. Her gorgeous, seductive vocals have NO rival in todays market. Period. In this devoted fans opinion, Stacey's voice is a soothing yet forceful blend of several legendary music icons. Her lead vocals bare a stunning and unmistakable resemblence to Olivia Newton-John's sweet, rich tone combined with Brian Wilson's lilting and sexy saprano movements. Yet just as you're feeling the warmth of her voice relaxing you and capturing your soul, Stacey will playfully push you around a corner and whip out tones reflecting the likes of Chrissie Hyde and the explosive Ann Wilson of Heart. The second wave of attack by this triple threat is top notch lyrical expertise. Stacey writes fearless, professional well-crafted stories like the title track, "A Slender Thread;" intentionally designed to break your heart while simultaneously connecting to you in a way that is comforting in the end. Or, she may choose to take you on a twisted, sexy ride and leave you breathing hard at the end like on her dance/rock song, "Roller Coaster." Whereever Stacey chooses to drive your mind and emotions, you can be certain her words will get to the point and connect. Third, Evans plays a mean acoustic rhythm guitar. Unlike the "kumbaya" strumming so common with most female singer songwriters, Stacey surrounds her lyrics with thumping, throbbing acoustic rhythms and unexpected chord changes seemingly designed to be a drummers dream. "A Slender Thread" is the first album I've purchased since Def Leppard's "Hysteria" that I cannot put down. There isn't one bad song on this record. I am undeniably addicted to this striking beauty and her infectious rock n roll. Stacey's beautifully ferocious songwriting and vocals come alive when combined with her band that is "off the hook" in and of itself. Top it all off with a studio producer who obviously approaches each song with care, skill, and vision and "A Slender Thread" may just be the album that brings our arenas back to life.

4.0 out of 5 stars Stacey Evans has it ALL, March 16, 2006
This review is from: Slender Thread (Audio CD)
Wow! Stacey Evans really came through with her latest CD. Great songwriting, musical application and of course those vocals that cut through, and beyond the stratosphere! From the push and pull of "Roller Coaster", the relentless conveyor belt(in a GOOD way) of "Machine". The title track "A Slender Thread" entices you into her incredible web. "Inside Out" is, seemingly EVERYBODY'S story, but ... handed to you on a platter, with maybe a shot of tequilla spilled on it. So, Stacey Evans manages to "Outshine The Sun" Again !!! Not a surprise from this Amazing Talent! I can't wait for THIS tour! :-) Jeff S Clark
