On Steve Azar's new cd he takes off directly from his previous effort, " Indianola". This new cd comes with 14 incredible songs, including the hidden title track. Every song was written by Mr. Azar himself, and he truly knows how to write songs that are insightful. The song, "Sunshine", is one of my favorites, it's so relaxing and soothing for the soul. Other highlights are, "Sinkin' or swimmin'", and, "Take your time". Each song brings something special to the project for sure.
This new cd, "Slide on over here", ranks right up there with his last two albums. Song quality and the project as a whole compared to, "Indianola", I'd say is about even. If you loved "Indianola", you'll love this, they pretty much go hand in hand with each other.
With Steve Azar having his own record label and it being an independant label, it will be hard to get on radio. I hope he breaks through with this album. I think any of these songs on this project are as good as anything on radio. After already buying new cds this year from Rascal Flatts, Brad Paisley, and George Strait's, " Twang", I like Steve Azar's cd the best. Unless Tim Mcgraw's upcoming release, "Southern Voice", can beat Steve Azar's, "Slide on over here", then Steve Azar's cd may very well be the best cd I have bought in 2009.

Steve's music is great. His writing is top notch. I love this album. "Sunshine" is the track that did it for me. The rest of the album is excellent as well. There are no throwaways here. I'd like to see Steve get the attention he truly deserves.

I went to a website about a man who was travelling around the country by motorcycle trying to discover a reason for living after the death by cancer of his son. In the background he used a song called Hard Road. I loved it. Luckily he listed the artist who performed the music - I went to amazon and found this CD by Steve Azar. Just good solid well written, thoughtfully voiced songs that speak to the heart. I'd be able to give this a more detailed review but my husband has it playing non-stop in his car so I have only been able to listen to it 2-3 times so far. (--: We've bought it for 2 of his guitar playing/singing friends so that maybe they can get together and do 1 or 2 of these songs & I plan to give a copy to my brother because he likes to hear good music from many different places. Seredipity is a good thing & I'm glad it led me to Slide On Over Here.

Yummy. Created happy feeling. Well sung. Good relaxation and marvelous sound. Gerri S loves this one. Great voice.

His name is Steve Azar. 'Sunshine' is classic poetry. In the tradition of 'The Lady In Red.' It is rare that an artist can produce such a work that you know when you listen to it it will stand the test of time. 'Sunshine' is it. Country, AC, easy listening... it will be added to the list of greatest love ballads ever.

Just love love this song and so does my husband... bought as a Christmas stocking stuffer... should have bought two I think he's going to wear it away..

I could not find this CD anywhere, so when I found it on Amazon, I ordered it.. IT IS GREAT!!!

I bought this CD entirely on the strength of "Sunshine". I was very pleasantly surprised by all the other songs. I expected more country songs but found a mix of blues, jazz and country with some soul thrown in too. I love this and play it all the time. I'm planning to get his other CD's too and I imagine I'll be just as happy with them.

this is an awesome CD bought is for the song Sunshine and just can't stop listening to it. Brings back memories of Jim Croce & Bob Segers
