5.0 out of 5 stars What Fun
Slider the Unscooter is fun as well as great exercise. It's scarry at first because you feel awkward and tipsy but once you get a handle on it, you can have fun. We're in our sixties, and this is a great motivation tool to keep our girlish figures ! !

2.0 out of 5 stars Poorly constructed and not stable..

I bought the Slider The Unscooter - U8 for my son for Christmas and last month the handle broke off completely at the base with normal use (they said it's been happening on the model I bought). I was sent parts to replace all the parts myself from Unscooter and I was not given a replacement. The only way to contact them is by email which is the worse. that I've ever...

5.0 out of 5 stars Love this scooter!, November 7, 2008
This review is from: Slider The Unscooter - U8 - Three Wheel Action Scooter - Blue (Sports)
I have been riding the U6 for several months now and have really enjoyed it. I like it so much (and so do my sons) I had to buy the U8 so they would leave my PINK U6 alone!! We live in Florida and have no hills, so I can ride this anywhere. This is the only exercise routine I have been able to stick with and many want to know where I got my funky scooter. I have toned up and lost a couple pants sizes with my increased activity riding this scooter. Now with a 2nd one, I can drag my girlfriends out with me for some daily exercise. For those who hate to exercise, I highly recommend this scooter! The U8 is a little harder to manuver than the U6, but I love them both.

4.0 out of 5 stars Lots of fun, April 29, 2009

Purchased the slider about a month ago. Am really having fun (63 yrs old!!!) scooting around the nearby neighborhood park on it. It is another form of exercise that gets you moving. I like to do a variety of active things and this was one I could enjoy with my 7 yr old granddaughter. I bought her the U6 and she LOVES it! I will say noone who has tried it has been able to do the parallel movement very well. But I love the skating movement as well as the legs in and out movement. It doesn't go very fast on rough asphalt - it is definitely best on smooth sidewalk or the outdoor basketball court our park has. You can't buy in any store and Amazon had the best price when I was looking for it. Since it's not cheap and you can't try it out, you might be hesitant, but if you are an active teenager or adult, I say go for it.

I bought this for my 10 year old boy. He loves it. The only drawback is it takes lots of effort and energy to work on level ground. Works best on smooth pavement, like a tennis or basketball court. Is harder to work on regular asphalt or sidewalk.

From the very first day I saw a child's neighbor riding the Slider the Unscooter, I knew it was the right product for me!
Even though it is not easy to find, it took a while to discover where to purchase it.
It is strong/sturdy and well equiped.
I ride the streets of my subdivision and love it, people stop me to ask what kind of scooter is mine? and I've seen already a few of them buying it too.
It works out my adductors and my gluteal muscles better than any gym.
I just love it. I cannot wait to be home after work to take a ride on my unscooter every afternoon. I also bought another one for my child.
Thank you for this singular product Amazon!

My husband and I bought the U8 and U6 (respectively) scooters. We rec'd them from Amazon quickly. Hubby's had a bent front fork unfortunately, but Amazon rectified the situation quickly by sending out a new scooter and picking up the defective one.

The scooters were easy to put together...about 15 minutes each.

That being said, I cannot recommend the Slider. One of the biggest reasons? You CAN'T GO UPHILL! Absolutely impossible to do that...this scooter is great downhill (the brakes are quite helpful) and ok on level surfaces but fuggit about going uphill on this thing. And since both of your legs are on the scooter, you can't push your way uphill like you would be able to on a regular scooter. So you're left getting off the scooter and Walking the thing up, which pretty much defeats the whole purpose of riding said scooter.

On level surfaces? Really, you can't get much speed going unless you're really moving those legs. I was never able to do the "slalom move" and the "rollerskate" move was not very easy or fun to execute. We mainly used the "inner thigh" move to work the scoots and frankly, I felt pretty silly flapping my legs around like that. Even w/the inner thigh move, you can't get a lot of speed going.

I highly recommend getting a regular (single legged) scooter over the Unscooter...at least that way you can get some speed up and scoot your way uphill!

I bought this for my 25 year old daughter for Christmas 2009. It was super easy to put together and took less than 5 minutes. My daughter was thrilled that I got this for her. I have to say that she and I both love the slider. I am almost 48 years old and she say's I look like a kid when I ride her slider. This is the most fun I have had doing any activity. I just ordered one for myself so we can go riding together. The only issue is that you need to find a flat place to ride. It does not go uphill very easy. Lucky for us we have a tiled great room and we just fly around it on her slider. Other than our dogs trying to catch us it is a blast. It does not even make a mark on the floors. It is also fun on sidewalks and in the street. Be careful, it picks up speed very easy! I love the Slider!

5.0 out of 5 stars My Grandson Loves It!, May 30, 2009

This review is from: Slider The Unscooter - U8 - Three Wheel Action Scooter - Blue (Sports)
I purchased the Slider Unscooter U8 for my grandson's 13th birthday. He loves it!!!!! I am thinking about purchasing one for myself. I am 57 years old and need more exercise but feel a gym is too restrictive. Since I have a right hip problem and need a range of motion in my exercise routine, thought that this might be fun and more of what I need.I don't always have time for the gym, the machines are boring. I need a place to be.
