most of us don't feel we are "really bad" or even just "bad" girls, but when you read Liz's book about "Slightly Bad" girls of the Bible, it really hits home. Just a "little" controlling, how bad can that be? I've yet to read a book by Liz Curtis Higgs that did not inspire me and cause me to think more deeply about my relationship with Christ.

A delightful read... I wish it had covered more than five characters, but the presentation was well organized. I used it as a reference for a group Bible study, and it provided me with fresh new insights on Sara and Hagar.

If you've read the other books in this series, you might understand where I'm coming from... this book goes into such detail, over chapters of the lives of 4 women - where in her other Bad Girl Books it's a new woman each chapter.B/c I only met and learned about 4 main women, I didn't enjoy it as much, I reached the point where I was like "when will we be done with Sarah." It may have been immaturity, but I loved meeting more women, and seeing more modern stories that I can relate to! At the same time, I know these four women almost as if I was there with them!!

I always get a lot out of Higgs' materials. Her wit and wisdom (thru her own Bad Girl experience) never fail to show me new ways to grow in my faith.

I highly recommend "Slightly Bad Girls of the Bible". Liz Curtis Higgs not only writes wonderful fiction, but she is an insightful Bible teacher. Both of these talents are brilliantly showcased in all of her "Bad Girls" books! She begins the study with a modern-day fictional tale to get us thinking as the Biblical characters would. She then opens the Word of God and takes you through scripture line-by-line to reveal the bad girl's story. These are the most wonderful Bible studies! A MUST HAVE for yourself or your Bible study group!

Oh, I cannot stress how WONDERFUL this book is...I am not a 'reader' I tend to find books, read a couple chapters, and then put them down...usually never finishing them...but I COULD NOT put this one down. It was GREAT! God really spoke to me through this book...it was humorous, serious, remarkably enlightening, and easily the best book (besides the BIBLE) I have read! I HIGHLY recommend this book!5 STARS from me!

I introduced this series to a group of women for a weekly Bible study. While the Title brought them in, there is definitely much content in the book, particularly when paired with the workbook Slightly Bad Girls of the Bible Workbook: Flawed Women Loved by a Flawless God.At issue is the fact that we as women often think that God can't use us, simply because we aren't perfect. At the same time, God has always used flawed human beings, both men and women, to accomplish God's own purpose. If you are reading this as an individual, I recommend that you simply grab the book and go, but if you are leading a group of women (or mixed group), I strongly suggest incorporating the workbook into your group. For a shorter lesson, with a few more laughs, I suggest Slightly Bad Girls. However, the video doesn't correspond one on one with the book and workbook, so it might work best without the other two.

I purchased a set of these books for our women's Sunday School class. We have already studied, Bad Girls of the Bible and Very Bad Girls of the Bible. Our class has enjoyed reading and discussing these women and found each book beneficial as well as very interesting. The author has an amazing way to relate the women in the Bible to modern day women.

Not Much Content,

I didn't care too much for this book. The stories at the beginning of the chapters, switching Bible stories to current times, were okay, although I felt that a few of them didn't really fit the situation of the story in the Bible. I didn't think she really had that much to say about the women; most of the content in the chapters was simply different versions of the same Bible passage quoted, or quotes from other authors. It was interesting to look at the women as actual people, to whom these things really happened, instead of just made up characters in a story, but I don't think you need her book to do that. She really just narrates the story that you're already reading in the Bible. There were a few helpful insights, but all in all, I didn't get much out of it.
