Biography

Illustrating the perfect underground success story, Slightly Stoopid's dual front-men Miles Doughty (Guitar, Bass, Vocals) and Kyle McDonald (Guitar, Bass, Vocals), created their own label, Stoopid Records, in the early 2000’s to avoid signing a record deal and keep their DIY work ethic and freedom. West coast DUB/Rock pioneers later added musicians Ryan ‘RyMo’ Moran ... Read more in Amazon's Slightly Stoopid Store

This is the first release form the SD based band Slightly Stoopid. If you are a fan of Sublime then I'm sure you have heard of Slightly Stoopid. IF not, then you need to find this album. The freshman effort from the SD trio, is an amazing mix of Sublime style Dub Rock, and hard hitting punk originals. I was lucky enough to come across this album after listening to their sophmore release "Longest Barrel Ride." This album is amazing from start to finish, and at the end, to top it all off, the hidden track is a Song with the Late great Bradley Nowell playing bass on the track called "Ain't No Prophet." Definetly a treasure to have.

The boys from Slightly Stoopid are Slightly Sublime with their punk-reggae style and melodic tunes. If you were/are a Sublime fan and can appreciate the sounds of Bradley Nowell and friends...you will definitely love this album. Slightly Stoopid keeps it real though with their own added flavor and personality which is young at heart. These guys are the next BIG thing in the surf/punk, reggae/dance hall scence! I have been a fan since 1996 and definitely recommend this album as one of their best!

If your here you most likely already know the band, and were looking for a copy of this relic, but if your like me your not going to drop $200 on a used cd. And amazon isnt stocking it. Well after waiting forever i finally found this album on i*T*u#n*e*s and it was about 10 bux. So if you like this band go grab a copy, you wont be disappointed.

This being their first album, it had definatly a harder feel to it, but it was solid punk music. This band has the potential to become the next sublime as the hottest thing coming out of southeern california and possibly the west coast.

There is some negativity in reviewes of this album but I believe its from people who arent true fans. This album is where they started and is a great punk album with very little reggae vibe. Yes it is very different from the new records but great as well. Dont spend $150+++ dollars unless you just want the original cover and cd which I completely understand and your die hard...more power to you. However if your someone who wants to save the cash or dont know much about these guys..yet have a love for punk style music then heed this...
