There are no cottage cheese and canned pineapple salads in this vervy video by media master Richard Simmons. Instead he offers such fare as his signature Slimlicious Sandwiches, low-fat takes on an all-time favorite, the club sandwich. Instead of bacon, he uses paper-thin sliced smoked turkey; low-fat mayonnaise moistens thin slices of toasted bread, though he also recommends tortillas, pita bread, even toasted rice cakes in place of the bread. Lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, and cucumbers figure largely, as do the traditionally frilly toothpicks that hold the creation together.
