This review is from: B+W 77MM Circular Polarizer Slim Mount Multi Coated Filter (Electronics)
Like a lot of other photographers, I consider a polarizing filter to be really valuable for outdoor photography, especially landscape work. My 24-70mm Zeiss Vario-Sonnar, on a Sony A900 (full frame), will vignette at the widest angle with any polarizer but this slim profile design B+W. Such vignetting is more bothersome than fatal, but sometimes I have to use the photograph right up to the corner edges and vignetting there creates a lot more work in Photoshop. The B+W , slim line, 77MM Circular Polarizer does NOT vignette.

I think a polarizing filter is a must for outdoor photography. Polarizers add a punch, especially clouds and sky, that cannot be duplicated, even with the magic of Photoshop.
It is a must if you are shooting water in the sun, often lets you see below the surface of streams and shallow ponds. This particular filter is built thin enabling it to be used with a wide angle lens without vignetting. I have used it with a 10-20 mm lens with excellent results. Always use filters whose quality matches your lens - this filter is excellent and will suit the very best lenses.

This B+W filter is just like all other B+W products, it is built solid and functions as it is suppose to.

Decent polarizing capbility. I needed a filter for a wide-tele zoom, and this product addressed the vignetting issue. The downside is the slip on cap; it slips off readily, hence the downgrade rating of 4. One definitely requires a tether for this cap ... before the first trip.

Nice polarizer filter. I am always using this on my lenses when out in daylight. Great quailty. Drops your exposure down several f stops.

Acceptable CP,

A polarizer like the B+W TG-CP is an essential accessory for lenses with wide angle capabilities such as the Nikon 18-200mm AF-s VR. For my applications, the B+W has been a mediocre filter with an exceptionally thin profile. While there are CP filters with significantly better polarizing abilities (even a cheapo SunPack does a better job), said filters tend to be thicker and more prone to vignetting with wide angle lenses. Its my assessment that the B+W is better than nothing, and won't interfere with the edges.
